Doing a get-together on Hearth's Warming Eve with the Mane 6, Spike, Starlight Glimmer, and Sunset Shimmer, Eric Reed made an offhand comment about Santa Claus. It brought to his attention that Twilight, Starlight, Spike, and Sunset (and possibly Pinkie Pie) are the only Equestrians who knew who Santa is.

So, Eric told the rest of the Mane 6 about the legend of Santa Claus. But little did he know as he told his story that it gave a couple of ponies ideas...

It's not required to do so to enjoy this story, but if you want to learn how and why the human OC Eric Reed is in Equestria, check out A Giant Adventure to Equestria. Hearths Warming Day is almost upon the village of Ponyville and no two ponies are more excited then Sweetie Belle and Button Mash. For the energetic gamer, it's a chance to get as many new games as he wants, but for Sweetie Belle she's excited because she'll be living a dream. After a year of saving their money, she and her sister are going to the Manehatten Hearths Warming Show where all the best actors, musicians, and performers play for one night only.

However, when disaster strikes leaving Sweetie Belle's dreams shatterd, Button resolves to help his best friend.

In this AU, Sunset is still recovering not only from the trauma she suffered from being accused of posting the students' secrets, but also from her breakup with her now ex-boyfriend Flash Sentry; she decides to move to another city as a result.

Five years later, Sunset is attempting to make ends' meet when she spots a job hiring at a mall for a spot as one of Santa's Little Helpers. Enter (quite literally) a young man named Bobby, who works as a security guard at the mall that the Santa Meetup is taking place in order to help his family make ends' meet themselves; he himself is recovering from a nasty breakup sometime ago.

Sunset and Bobby hit it off quite well, despite their repeated insistence that they have a complete lack of chemistry. Of course, this isn't completely true, but for different reasons. Bobby thinks himself as unworthy for the love of a beautiful girl like her, while Sunset believes that this new love interest is too good to be true and is unwilling to open up to him...like those totally clichéd holiday romantic comedies that they both know and hate (and love at the same time).

Hearth's Warming Eve is just around the corner, and the misadventures of all the different creatures in Equestria as they prepare for the big day to arrive are told through the style of a classic Christmas story.

(And yeah, I know it’s like March, get off my haunches)

A few months went by and for tonight's Hearth's Warming, Twilight and her husband pay a visit to Ponyville to watch their little girl perform on stage with Sunset's son.

It’s the Christmas season, and all are at home with their families...except one. Labeling her as a scapegoat during the Anon-a-miss incident, a number of students have abducted Sunset, intending to make her pay for all the secrets she spilled....Again.
There's just one problem....She didn't.

You guys know Dainn's "Anon-A-miss" Story. But if you don't, leave now, and go read his story. This story is a direct branchoff from his, continuing immediately after chapter 5 of his story. You NEED to read his story up until chapter 5, to understand what's going on in this one.
