A slightly different take on my story “Truth Hurts”, in which Starlight and Sunburst go after their parents and overhear their conversation, learning some painful truths themselves.

Stellar Flare makes all kinds of plans. But when something she couldn't have planned for happens, she remembers what keeps her going.

Title inspired by (obviously) the song of the same name by John Lennon.

It's been a week since anyone in Sire's Hollow has seen Firelight, something that's incredibly worrisome considering recent events. Being the good neighbor that she is, Stellar Flare decides that he's been cooped up long enough, and stops by to make sure he's been caring for his daughter.

Turns out it's not the little filly she should be worried about.

Hearth's Warming has come again and Firelight has prepared the stupendously amazing, unquestionably-loving, full of heart and passion celebration for his Pretty-Witty Cinnamon-pop, Stellar Flare. If only they could have spent the hours coming up with new pet names, it would have been the best Hearth's Warming ever. It would have spectacular, if not for his own mess-up on the gift department for her.

How hard can it be to get the perfect surprise present for Stellar, anyway?

For spring break, Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst return back to Sire's Hollow to visit with their parents. Being their first trip back as a couple, the two are not looking forward to their parents talk about their relationship. However, both Stellar Flare and Firelight have an exciting announcement to share for when they arrive.

After being told off by their children, Stellar Flare and Firelight discuss some hard truths and revelations from that conversation over tea together, and support one another through it.
