Ponyville is celebrating its history wrong. Luckily, Twilight is there to explain things to them!

A commission for Multiversecruise, based on the prompt: "Write a story about season 1 twilight, with her sarcastic, no-nonsense attitude still learning to deal with Pinkie's Pinkieness!"

It had been a simple, simple question. A natural one, even. One she was surprised she'd never asked before. So naturally, once she'd realised that she'd never asked it, Twilight Sparkle had to do the most logical thing and ask.

In her, relatively speaking, not too short life, she'd always thought that no question wasn't meant to be asked. No answer, no matter how life changing it could be, should have not been given. Truth was a principle above the needs of the individuals, and it was always the right thing to know more of it.

It was in those spirits that she went to Celestia and asked that questions. And once she received her answer she realised she'd been wrong. Very, very, very wrong.

Spike, after being rejected by Rarity, has been dating Sweetie Belle for a few months. Though they love each other, he feels she's trying too much to be like her sister. Can Spike show Sweetie that he loves her and nopony else?

Spike's dating life, though uneventful, takes a blow after saving Fluttershy's life. Why? Because she's threatening every mare he comes into contact with! The issue is Spike doesn't like her back, and Rarity's becoming concerned.

Will Spike be able to survive Fluttershy's craziness? Will his recent injury allows him to finally score the mare of his dreams, Rarity? Will the insanity and absurdity of it all render Spike with a conclusion different from what he was expecting?

It takes a lot to be the mayor of a town like Ponyville. You've got to keep a level head in even the most crazy of situations. And believe me, a lot of crazy things happen to this town all the time. Why just the other day... what's that? A monster is attacking? Yes, we get that a lot, but don't worry. Princess Twilight and her friends will take care of it. They always do, after all!

What's that? They're busy with something else right now? But... but then who's going to take care of the monster?!

Just a one shot that wouldn't leave my head until it was written. I hope you at least get a giggle out of it!

Or in this case, one happy, expectant, formerly villainous unicorn into a seething, barely-held-together dam of fury and death ready to burst.
