My take on a scene that probably should have been in My Little Pony: A New Generation. Pipp Petals and Zipp Storm finally hash things out before going on to Bridlewood.

She was the kindest, funniest, loyalist, hardest, person I knew. She was tempestuous and tumultuous, frenetic and frenzied. She laughed like no other and cried just as hard. She was far younger than she'd ever let on, age being just a number. She should have worn a helmet with how long her head stayed up in those clouds.

We grew up together, we had dreams together, we were the best of friends. It was the best of times, it was the end of times, we couldn't wait for it all to be over. We never knew what it would mean until the clock struck twelve. The gun cracked, the bell rang, the timer hit zero, and the finish line awaited. It was the best of times.

Before she was strong, she was weak, before she was hard, she was soft, before she burned hot, she was the coolest there was. Before she was immortal, she was one of us.

Before she was Captain of the Wonderbolts, she was Spitfire.

And she was my best friend.

And what of the Shadowbolts? They scattered after the battle with Nightshade. Surely they didn't just disappear.

A story of remaining strong in the face of harsh challenges. Life and love can be tough, but strong hearts always find a way to prevail.

The life of a Wonderbolt is full of cheering crowds and awe-inspiring feats of flight. For Soarin, some of the most critical moments of all, the moments that have shaped and reshaped everything and everyone he holds dear happened away from the crowds and out of the sky. Sometimes the greatest changes wait until after the action is over.
