The alternate timeline battle against King Sombra has finally come to an end, and now Pinkie Pie is entrusted with keeping the ex-King under lock and key for the rest of his days. But having seen her friends hurt and tormented by King Sombra personally, Pinkie Pie decides to punish the unicorn in the worst possible way she can think of.

Rainbow Dash was the Iron Wing. She was a war hero, the Slayer of Shadows, the Liberator of the Crystal Empire, the Wrath of Celestia. And depending on who you ask, she still is.

But the war is over. There's little need for a pony like her in peacetime. So she keeps telling herself that she needs to adjust, that she needs to find a new role to fill in the world that she saved. But Equestria seems content to let her remain what she has become, even though they have no need of a warrior.

"This isn't how it's supposed to be", is something she keeps telling herself. But every time she says it, the only thing she can reply is, "so what should it be?"

One whole year after the close of the war, and Rainbow Dash still doesn't have the answer.

An alternative ending to the season 5 finale.

Starlight Glimmer destroys the time scroll that allows Twilight to return to Cloudsdale. With the sonic rainboom stopped, her plan has succeeded, and this time, Twilight can't come back to try and stop her again. She thinks it's over, but when Twilight pulls her into the present, Starlight finally sees what her actions have done.

When they first moved to Ponyville, Fluttershy moved into an ornate cloud house, and Rainbow Dash moved into an animal infested cottage. As they settle into new lives and meet new ponies, they quickly discover that this isn't going to work at all.

Lotus is a professional masseuse. She sees the pony below the skin, and tends to coax just as much out of their mouths as their muscles. Late one day, she gives three very different massages to three close friends, all of whom mention a name she isn't familiar with: Applejack.

When she goes past the barrier of civilization she comes to realize that Equestria is a much more dangerous place than anypony could anticipate. Fond of her new life of adventure, Rainbow Dash spends her days exploring the outskirts of her homeland, learning all that she can about the world around her. But what lies beyond is far more than she would ever expect and the Elements of Harmony can't help her out here.

I've given a cancellation to this story, but I'm keeping it up for all those who still enjoy it as well as something to look back on. Much like Leaving Their Legacy, It isn't quite what I hoped it would turn out to be, but I will be posting a new Fantasy Adventure in due time an linking it from here. It's Applejack and Rainbow Dash's third wedding anniversary and after some planning and help from friends, Applejack has the perfect day planned out; starting with an early morning hot air balloon ride and a little extra surprise. While her wife may grumble about the early start, Applejack is sure she can turn her frown upside down when she sees the view they'll have.
