My name is Twilight Sparkle, and for the last 33 days I've been stuck in a time-loop, repeating the 23^rd of March, 2 A.R. It is still unknown how the loop started, nor how I can end it. All I can say with any amount of certainty is that time for the rest of the world resets every night, and every morning I wake up it is the morning of the 23^rd.

Twilight Sparkle didn't think much of the spell at the time. Using her student's music box to keep an eye on her seemed like an excellent idea! There was just one problem: she couldn't change back.

Each night I’m trapped in the dark, immobilized. I hear whispers as they operate on me: they say I shouldn’t be alive. Twilight refuses to tell me about the operation. Sometimes she can’t look me in the eye. What did they do to me?

Nothing used to scare me: I kicked a dragon in the nose, defeated gods of chaos and hatred, and control the weather. Now I feel broken. My memories have shattered, I feel wrong, and I’m afraid to tell anypony how scared I am.

Twilight Sparkle has always been frustrated with Discord. His ability to do anything, with no more effort than a snap of his claw. It shouldn't be possible. His power had to come from somewhere.
Then, one day, Twilight lets slip how she feels. Surprisingly Discord agrees to explain it to her. To give her the secret to all of his powers. If she's willing to pay the price that knowing it all will bring.

Celestia knew something terrible was about to happen. Sure, everything seemed fine, but she knew better. Something was very, very wrong.

Her fears were confirmed when a magical being from the distant future told her that on that very night, Equestria would be destroyed and all would be lost. There was no way to stop it. The darkness was coming and would consume everypony. There would only be one survivor – and it was not Celestia.

The world’s last night had come.

A griffon interviews a grown Spike on the last days of the Kingdom of Equestria, and his personal relationship with the nation’s greatest villain. For history is written by the winners, and Spike and his mentor were on the losing side.
