Well here is a short story I made!

So as I mentioned above, Conicer pretty much gave this idea to me. It first started as a fun scene just to write, then I decided to make a short one shot out of it. And I am not going to lie, it was extremely fun to write.

And again, thanks to Evehly for the picture. Man I really like this picture. So dark...

One thing I want to mention is that for me, I don't think Celestia would ever do this really. I know this would never happen. I don't believe in the whole tyrant Celestia biz. But like I said above, writing this was so juicy and fun. I mean it is a lot of fun writing evil monologues. It really is XD :trollestia: You should totally try it. So yeah, this is just a fun little story where I wrote a dark, juicy scene.

I mean I love the changelings and Chrysalis. But apparently I also like messing with them based on my other stories :rainbowlaugh:.

Hope you guys like it.

PS. Kudos to you if you get the reference from the title.

...do I see a Flowers for Algernon reference in the title?

4030319
I take that as a yes. Such a grand work of art it was.

4030349

It was. I am surprised it is a Banned Book at some places. I can't remember anything that would warrant that.

Wow, that was dark. Not in the way I thought it would be, but I could see Celestia doing this.

4030384
nor can I. I remember the first time I read it. I was so blown away.

4030387

Well hoped you liked it at least.

4030319 that emoticon...
Just, perfect.

So that's what the reforming spells Discord ate do? :twilightoops:

:twilightoops:That was one of the scariest things I have ever read. Regardless of Chrysalis' circumstances, Celestia just mind raped her. I find myself wondering what she does to anyone that witnesses her doing that.

That was terrifying. Poor Chrysalis...

This was indeed good...

4030641

*shrugs*

Who knows?

Cause really, I don't XD.

I don't think that was a reforming spell. More like completely insert a new identity, and then groom her into something more "proper".

Just go train them when they are young....
Then they will be loyal...:pinkiecrazy:

4030707
Dam right. Celestia just mind ****ed her :pinkiecrazy:
She did what Chrysalis and the changelings do, change into another identity...
Only....Chrysalis didn't have any control this time.

What would she do if she saw someone do that? Who knows?

4030732
What I was aiming for.

I had way too much fun writing this....
:pinkiecrazy:

Well hoped you guys liked it.

4030788 I now demand a happier story about Best Changeling as compensation!:flutterrage:

... if you don't mind?:fluttershysad:

4030806

Ummm.....Ummmmmm....Ummmmmm

*throws a bunch of papers everywhere*

Well I do have two other Changeling fics.....

Buuttttt.......

:pinkiecrazy:

I do have a Chrysalis redemption one if that helps?

No tragedy tag?

4030930

Is it [Tragedy] if Chrysalis is happy at the end? Is it tragic to her?

4030936
I guess it depends on your definition of tragedy and how this story is to be interpreted. I see this as a tragedy firstly because Chrysalis is robbed of her free will because of her thirst for vengeance (the heroine's tragic flaw) and secondly because of the negative way in which Celestia, who is commonly interpreted as a bastion of what is right, is portrayed.

Disturbing. Good job.

She's still a changeling, I'm pretty sure, but now she has no idea. She'll crave the affection of others without ever knowing why.
Of course, this leads to other disturbing questions. Did this happen to Twilight? She certainly is abnormally talented.
What about Pinkie Pie? She's completely out of place next to her family.
What about the rest of the Mane Six?
Heck, what about Luna? How do we know that anypony is actually who they think they are?
:twilightoops:
:trollestia::pinkiecrazy:

4030967 It sounds like she doesn't like to create entire families around the new identity, so you have to look at orphans. Luna is a good bet for a victim. Applejack maybe? She did mysteriously appear under a table, demanding apple fritters.

Scootaloo! :pinkiegasp: I bet Scootaloo used to be a nasty griffon. If she hadn't shown up in the background in the season opener, I'd say she was Gilda. Both obsessed with Rainbow Dash...

4030967
:trixieshiftleft:
:trixieshiftright:
:pinkiecrazy:

Oh she will want affection, she will want Celestia's approval after all...
:pinkiecrazy:

Just like Twilight!

Madness!

4031012
I only got two other changeling fics, and a Luna, Celestia one.

4031042
....
......
........
:twilightoops:

It ALL MAKE SENSE!

This gets an A and a upvote for originality. True, Celestia did put on her tyrant crown for this, but the story didn't suffer for it. I liked it a lot.

Well, It's official

Every changeling DOES have a silver lining:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

Well, shit. That WAS dark, but in a totally awesome way.

...s-shit...
...
...
(begins applauding)

This was downright painful to read, I hated your characterizations.

4031368

I think they may be referring to the definition of a tragedy, where the main character failed due to their own fault. Chrysalis was offered peace, but rejected it because of her pride. So it bit her back. I think that is what they are referring to.

But is it a tragedy if Chrysalis is happy in the end? :pinkiecrazy:

4031380
Thanks!

4031578
:trollestia:

4031593
What I was aiming for, thanks!

4031643
Your avatar is quite appropriate. XD

4031675
Fair enough. Thanks for taking the time to read it though.

Congratulations on getting to the popular story list!

4031850

Thanks man! Wouldn't been able to without your help.

Hey! You took my advice! All of it actually! This makes me happy! :pinkiehappy:

And this story turned out great, imo. :trollestia:

4031933

Of course I do! Thanks for all the help man!

I don't particularly like this take on Celestia, but it was competently executed.

4031721

But is it a tragedy if Chrysalis is happy in the end?

Umm, how? She is kind of dead.
Her personality and memories are gone. What is left is just her body, occupied by that...thing...Celestia made.

Yeah that was dark, nice one I like it.

Holy shit Celestia.

That was dark as hell, and brilliantly executed. Great job on this. I look forward to seeing more stories from you. (Speaking of which, I still need to get around to Under the Suns Wings...)

Headcannon accepted.
I wonder... maybe Sunset Shimmer´s instability was caused by a subconscious effort in fighting back the reprogramming, until she escape throught the mirror. Celestia deemed Sunset too broken for being useful and let her go, cut loses and searched for another "student".

4031368

Mercy? :applejackconfused::twilightoops: erasing Chrysalis´memories entirely and twisting her into a pony one, a thrall with a forced love and devotion toward Celestia, to fits her new machinations, is mercy? that is the ultimate sacrilegy. Burning her into crisps (specially when she was begging) would have been more merciful.

I don't either. But like I said, this was extremely fun to write. Just a fun what if scenario.

4033156
Oh I know. I was just messing with ya XD.
Was making a comment not sad from the new perspective.:pinkiecrazy:
But yeah, it is completely messed up what happened to Chrysalis, no doubt there.

How I pictured it though, Celestia inserted a new memory. Then she could nurture and teach "Chrysalis" into what she feels is proper. Taken advantage that a being is more loyal when it is by choice. Be being that close mother figure, "Chrysalis" would cling to her. Much in the manner of how Twilight sees Celestia.

But like I said, this was just a what if scenario.

4033329
Really?
How?

4033407

4033565

4033944
Thanks!

4034170
I don't what happened to Sunset Shimmer. I never saw Equestria Girls.

What I planned for Chrysalis so to speak is that Celestia didnt force her to obey her, but rather raise her and teach her to be what she deems proper.

The whole mercy part, iunno. Maybe in Celestia eyes it is. If Celestia is against killing maybe she thinks it is best? The point was that it is supposed to be f***ed up. But what I was seeing, Chrysalis is not a thrall. She is not forced to love or obey Celestia. Rather, what Celestia did was that she removed Chrysalis' old memories, and replace it with a new one. One that is young and very impressionable.

With that though, Celestia can teach and mold in the way she she fits. That is most likely being proper, being good. She is teaching her to want those things, by choice rather than force. Because that is the point, it is much better to have Chrysalis loyal by choice than force. It is messed up, no doubt. Not arguing there. Especially since she is putting Chrysalis is such a vulnerable position to start with, a young orphan foal. She is setting up so Chrysalis will latch on to her by her own will. Chrysalis will look at Celestia as a mother figure now. One that flew down and swept her off for a better life (that is living in a palace and being Celestia's student than parent less and no friends).

The messed up part I was also going for, is that what if life is better? What if she is more happy? Maybe that is how Celestia sees it in this case (which is still messed up) but food for thought.

4035705

Celestia continued to smile as she brought her face right in front of Chrysalis. “I told you,” she whispered gently, “I rather not kill my enemies, Chrysalis. Not when I might have use for them."

This part is the most revealing (and cruel). Sounds like "I don´t kill what I can control, and you are my new puppet"

Well...that was a little dark...

Ah yes. Tyrantlestia at its finest. And submissive weak Chrysalis to boot!

Not my cup of tea.

Such dark. Very grim.

This fic did its job.
