Everything was going well for Queen Chrysalis of the changeling Swarm. She had fooled the ponies completely and the barrier that blocked her swarm was gone. Victory was all but assured as her changelings descended upon the helpless city of Canterlot.
Yet, even after all of that, there would be no victory for the changelings. A barrier of pure love would repel the invasion and bring about the end of Queen Chrysalis’s great swarm. With what fleeting magic she had left, Chrysalis attempted to slow the barrier's expansion in a desperate attempt to allow her swarm to escape.
She succeeded, but at a terrible cost. Magic drained, wings gone and chitin cracking. The only thought that went through her mind as the renewed barrier launched her through the air at close to the speed of sound was how she hoped her sacrifice was not in vain.
Then she hit the ground, and the Queen was dead. Her life ended as her broken body collided against the sand of a faraway desert. Yet her journey would not end here, for the Gardener had chosen her, and the Queen would live again.
Now armed with a strange companion and power known only as ‘the Light’ a new mare, devoid of her previous life's memories, must find her place in the world before her past returns to finish what they started.

I'm rather curious to see where you take this, hopefully we'll get to see Queen dealing with the peculiarities of being a quasi-immortal while also discovering the legacy her previous life has left her. On the one hand, no more starvation, on the other, she's gonna get a lot of use out of that "ablative immortality".

While it's and interesting premise, part of it makes it seem like the protagonist is going to be pursuing the destructive path of the "Worm Logic", and anyone who would likely follow that path seems to me like they would be outright rejected by a Ghost.
I'm also feeling somewhat apprehensive, because for me there's been a bizzare trend where every Destiny crossover I read invariably turns out to have the story do a 180° and tell the reader to cheer for the protagonist getting beaten down or dominated by some asshole. I know it sounds like a strange thing to say, but it's happened 4 times before.

this means you'll be having her discover the other subclasses? most fanfics I've seen of Destiny usually lock the main person into one subclass, either forgetting or ignoring that game reasons aside, Guardians have access to more than one aspect of Light. this is even seen in Zavala himself: a trailer that included his own life has him shown as a Striker, but in the game, he is shown using the Ward of Dawn, a Defender subclass ability.
one thing Destiny 2 did right was in the unlocking of the subclasses with what our Ghost called 'spooky story time'. an interesting spoken insight into the subclasses and what they are and mean with people that are connected to them.

Let's not pretend to even slightly understand how the Traveller operates in regards to choosing light wielders. I mean Savathun quite literally took a last ditch gambit on her death bed and pleaded for the traveller to save her. She never promised to change, she never regretted anything she did, she never vowed to defend the light or the Traveller. She really did just beg for her life and say "wouldn't it be fucked up if you just let me die after everything we've been through?" And the Traveller did. It turned her and a bunch of Hive into Guardians. And Zevala was PISSED.
And as for worm logic, do you mean Sword- Logic? The worms know of it, but they are not the source of it. And it's not destructive on it's own. The reason the Hive's application of it is so destructive is because their worms are constantly devouring them, demanding constant escalation.

Interesting that she primarily used the Sunsinger Daybreak, but manifested the Dawnblade sword. You would imagine those mutually exclusive, even with classes being a state of mind, since the Sunsinger was replaced with Dawnblade....and never came back. I mean, Titan got the Defender bubble for Sentinel (eventually), and I think Arcstrider got the Bladedancer super eventually?

The Light in game as we use it is so we have a game to play and for game balance and whatnot, lore wise the Light is a lot more fluid and individualistic. Most hunters use golden gun because it was taught to them and it's effective so why not keep using it all it is shoving a hole lot of solar energy in to your gun and shooting it, and warlocks taught hunters how to blink.
