A series of catastrophes have left half of Equestria drowning beneath the sea. In this war-ravaged world, Princess Celestia has turned into the tyrannical Daybreaker and announced her intentions to bring the world under her safe control. The mercenaries of the ship Rogue Diamond lead by Captain Rarity have mostly remained outside of the conflict. However, a survivor of the Canterlot flooding approaches them with the keys to restore Equestria.
This is inspired by the webcomic Rogue Diamond. I have seen pages of it on Derpibooru and kept getting ideas for my own MLP adventure at sea. My story and characters deviate largely from the webcomic.
The first chapter is sort of testing the waters (pun not intended) and seeing if this story sticks. If I feel like it's worth continuing, there will be Spike-shipping (not sure between who yet).
Good so far I definitely reminds me of the rogue diamond webcomic I’m curious as to what happens
and that if sun knight is shining armor under control and what spike means for day breakers plans for change, also wandering what happened to what I assume were spikes wings and hope magic might help fix them and hoping it’s a twispike on account them reuniting after many years apart

I wouldn’t exactly say “it’s pointless.” I mean look at the Conversion Bureau and You and Your Human for example. They started out as single fanfictions, and now there are several different alternate versions written by others, some of which are pretty good in their own right. Besides, pia-sama’s comic hasn’t finished yet, and even if it did, you’re taking your story in a slightly different direction. (And personally, I would like to see more of where it leads. And I’m willing to bet others do too, otherwise, they wouldn't have read this far.)

I don’t know about anyone else, but I would have loved to actually see all that was described to have happened; prior to where this story starts off with the main six and starlight. It’s a good case of show, don’t tell, kind of thing in storytelling that I think would’ve benefited this story in the long run.

This is hands down far superior to the webcomic series of the same name. Honestly, I was initially turned off by this comic as a result of not knowing why the main five, excluding Twilight, didn’t know who Spike was and it wasn’t until I read the comic that I understood why this was the case. I love how you changed every character to be far better then who they were in the comic series, especially Spike, and I can’t wait to see what comes next when you update this story whenever you get the chance to do so.
