Honestly, I expect there to be some point for public opinion to turn heavily against the Union because of an argument that basically goes "this ia a planet full of magic, friendly, candy colored ponies, and we're the ones invading. Explain to me how we're not the bad guys."

Meets the enemy ( prosperity junction / unicorn in the forrest) , conflict( Loader bot vs bandits / nervous breakdown) , finding out the enemy isn't so bad (deal going relatively well / caring ponies)
And (probably as it's whatever the player / you choose to do.) joining up with them.
I guess I'll follow the story. A little fast paced for me though. And some grammatical errors in there.

So... I dunno, maybe a suggestion, but possibly consider adding a Dark tag due to the inherent awfulness of the Union? Maybe? I dunno, you should ask people more qualified than me first. Maybe put the suggestion in your next author's notes.
