I was going to drop a "not my fetish, but still hot", comment, but apparently that's manestream now. So I'll go the extra mile.
What I enjoyed most is all the bits AROUND the sex. The reactions, the shifting emotions, the conversation, the back-and-forth (no pun intended). It makes the parts about actually mashing body parts together more meaningful and enjoyable. That ending, where they cuddle together in an exhausted heap and discuss how having an actual relationship would be challenging but want to try anyway, makes me rue that this is a one-shot.
Actually, I kind of rue it anyway. That endangered thestral repopulation premise sounds pretty interesting. I would have loved to see that idea emerge and play itself out to this eventual conclusion, and it's kind of annoying to see it dumped on the reader in the story description as little more than a pretext for Luna to be preggers while getting pounded.
