Shadowmane PX-41

Just your average british lad. I write things for a living. It’s the strangest living you’ll ever find, second only to my inability to take myself off of the grid.

T

After having their Cutie Marks separated from their bodies, the Mane Six find themselves thrown in some bizarre jailhouse, meant to break their minds and accept Starlight Glimmer's twisted visions of unity.

However, it's not the propaganda or the different features that's about to drive the Mane Six insane....

No, what's truly going to break their minds is the fact that Starlight intends to starve them until they accept her philosophy... But for how long will Twilight and the group survive without any food or water?

Missing AU tag. :duck:

5881952 If it were AU, then there'd be some massive differences.

Cool story !! Great job,I really liked it! ;)

Okay, "tragedy" and "dark" tags are misleading. :rainbowhuh:

5882068 Well, it's Tragedy because there's no hope for them in the end, especially with the muffins. And it's Dark due to the fact that being forced to starve is a long and painful way to go...

Alternate Universe: 'What if' situations where you take an episode/event from the show in a different direction from how it occured. (i.e. Chrysalis being successful)

Source.

You said:

Starlight intends to starve them

I'm pretty sure that's the event from the episode being taken in a different direction from how it occurred. :raritywink:

5882115 I always believed Alternate Universe stories to be set in completely different worlds, like the Regime/Insurgency world from Injustice: Gods Among Us.

What?! They were willing to eat Pinkie Pie but not the cupcakes?.... Or I am I just missing something....

"The Cough" parody?

I did as well, until Meeester corrected me. :twilightblush:

They went this mad after one night? :rainbowhuh:

5882329 I think that anyone would go crazy if they didn't have anything to eat or drink for god knows how long...

Will if you think about it starlight is screw from the start because spike will see they are not back see he sent a letter to princesses then sent ponys at the town if they don't come back the princesses will go and might kill starlight for what she done.

Starlight Glimmer fiction? How wonderful!

... Though I have to echo the sentiments of Tennis Match Fan. While your reasoning for the tags makes sense... calling this dark or tragic detracts from the enjoyment of the comedy. Rather than presenting Pinkies escape comedic, it makes it terrifying because it seems like what she's afraid of might actually happen. Inflating manes aren't as fun when the alternative is cannibalism.

Dragonjerk also has a point in that it seems too extreme a reaction for one night. It might have worked better if it was stretched out over a while longer- which would have opened some comedic opportunities. Like...Twilights reaction to having to destroy books. Or the Mane Six fighting over who "has" to pretend to join, because that pony will get a good meal.

Loved the ending with the muffins though. I think this is a good set up for comedy, and the concept would be stronger if the fic was expanded a bit more.

5882344 Eat? Maaybe not. Drink? Most certainly.

5882777 There's a show I used to watch called Invisible Network of Kids. One of the episodes was called A Strict Diet. That one was dark, due to the fact that everyone's appetites seemed non-existent for most of the episode. And this was the plot. Eventually, hunger leads to obedience, which leads to people doing anything to get it.

Sorry, but Starlight Glimmer is such a bitch that your fanfic failed to convince me she had no intention of starving them.

It was kinda funny, though. I'll give it a Like for that.

Am I the only one who saw the obvious solution?

PONIES! EAT YOUR WAY TO FREEDOM!

LOL :rainbowlaugh: for them , it's tragic, but for us, its comedy :rainbowlaugh:

This is absolutely hilarious! Book eating, nearly eating one another, so much fighting and name calling. This one's getting an upvote and fave.

You can survive for over a week without any food. Food isn't the problem, it's water.
They need to have water almost every day if they aren't going to die of thirst. Though maybe they did install a water supply.

I have also gone for more than 24 hours without any food. It's perfectly doable.

I ate paper. :twilightsmile:Paper is kinda pointy and pokes your throat. :pinkiesick:But it tastes kinda like hardtack, so it's good I guess.

Fluttershy: "Um, Pinkie? Are you eating...paper?"
Pinkie: "Am I? Huh. How odd of me."

when i saw the title and premise my mind went to a much darker place than what the story was actually about
