Test of Time has a certain charm to it that many later games don't have (such as being the only one in the entire series to have multiple layers to the map in some modes. Plus, after beating the Sci-Fi mode with the EarthGate victory, the idea for the EarthGate Saga popped into my head. It was a spur of the moment thing, really.
