It's like asking why a filly named "Sweetie Belle" is the younger sister to a mare named "Rarity". Yes, they are both unicorns and they have a white mane, but if Hasbro didn't tell us that they are sisters, we wouldn't know that.
Or why Luna is Celestia's sister. Sure, they are both alicorns and they both control a space object, and have a similar mane and tail style, but their colors? They are almost the opposite.
And talkinh about Celestia, how do we know that Blueblood is her niece? If Luna was exiled, there must be a third sister who is his mother or grandmother.
So, imho, the Sirens being sisters must be another fandom decision: some will like it and will believe this, and some won't.

Actually, it's only in part true. If we watch closely during their half-siren transformation during the concert, we see that Adagio and Sonata have similar color patterns, though Aria doesn't. So, it might be relevant.
And also, while we don't have any proof that they are sisters, we don't have any proof that they aren't sisters either.
So, like I said, it's up to the fans. Some might like them being sisters, some might not, some might like only two of them being sisters, and so on. Personally, I don't really care as long the story is well written and catchy.

it's funny, for all the crap they want Sonata to give Sunset, Aria and Adagio subtly imply that Sunset's special to Sonata. it's like the want to cut their fun short (or let Sunny in on the joke and hope it lasts)
