On her first day at Canterlot High, the Twilight Sparkle of the human world learns that it wasn't just her new friends who mistook her for her royal Equestrian counterpart. Realizing that what had seemed like a harmless brush-off to her may have in fact broken the heart of nice-guy Flash Sentry, Twilight becomes determined to make it up to him. What better way to do that than to set him up on a date with the girl of his dreams-or at least, a close proximity to her?

It's a crazy plan to be sure, but it just might be crazy enough to work. Best of all, it's completely risk free. After all, there's no way either of them could develop feelings for each other, right?

Having spitefully ended her tutelage under Princess Celestia, Sunset Shimmer has fled through a magical mirror to another world. Deprived of her magic, stuck in unfamiliar surroundings and with no clear plan, things look bleak for Sunset and her self-imposed exile. But it seems as though she will not spend her first day in this strange place alone.

While dealing with the mess after the fall formal, Sunset Shimmer must also find herself struggling with issues that she had thought was long forgotten. Will she be able to overcome her past or will she be destined to repeat the mistakes she had in the past?

This story is a sequel to Flounce!

This story was written for shortskirtsandexplosions as part of Jinglmas 2017. It's probably not so much of a sequel as a spiritual successor to "Flounce!" And you'd likely want to check that one out for context. If, for some reason, you wanted to read this one without reading "Flounce!" (Maybe you don't go in for the smut - I don't know) you can just read that one up to the point where Flash awkwards hard enough to kill a conversation two rooms over. That... Was about where I stopped before writing this one (I don't go in for the smut - Shrug).

Sonata has a tooth ache. Adagio and Aria don't want to deal with it. Sunset Shimmer gets involved. Applejack is there. It's gonna be one of those days.
