Two weeks after the Friendship Games, as Twilight Sparkle begins to blossom in the new environment of Canterlot High School, her brother invites her to an old favorite of theirs growing up — Sweet Snacks Café.

But mixed in with the taste of milkshakes is the need for closure and understanding, as the happy changes in Twilight's life belie the sour path it took to get to them — and the responsibility Shining Armor feels in laying that path.

Sunset Shimmer's ambition grew along with her power and knowledge, and she decided to become an alicorn princess and rule at Princess Celestia's side. When the princess didn't turn her into an alicorn, Sunset jumped through the portal in a last show of rebellion and into another world.

A world devoid of magic but much more advanced technologically. Sunset figures that if she solves the conundrum of this strange new world and manages to combine magic with technology, she'll ascend into a princess and take her rightful place.

With a familiar face assisting her and the help of an inquisitive girl, Sunset sets out on the path of research and development. The world might not be ready for what is to come, but Sunset will still spearhead a revolution bigger than any world has ever seen.

It all happened so long ago... we were young, different, dumb then. Besides, I've moved on from that part of my life.

Loneliness is a scary thing. It can gnaw away at the back of your mind, with your instinct being to try to push it down, when you can't figure out how to deal with it. Just ask Gallus how he knows that. He has foresworn relationships, after being unable to sustain them, instead focusing on his duties as Equestria's Royal Guard Captain. He has accomplished so much and yet... there's still that emptiness, gnawing at the edge of his mind.

Meanwhile, Silverstream is more sure than ever that it was a horrible mistake - her and Gallus breaking up. Can she win back the one for her? Will succeed in opening Gallus's eyes to the truth?

As scary as it can be to look for a part of yourself that you feel is gone forever, broken beyond repair, is it ever truly gone if you gather the courage to cast your eyes upon it?

Since the friendship games, Sour Sweet has been making an effort to stick with her new crew of friends. However in opening up more and socializing...she's learned more about her rapid mood swings. Her friends are supportive and after an instance where she almost hurt someone...was given proper help. She hates taking the medicine each day. It eats at her. Why isn't she normal?

Well...luckily she doesn't face this alone. More so when her metalhead friend catches her in an emotional state. Lemon may not be the best equipped for this...but she'll be damned if Sour suffers in silence.

Lemon cares too much about her to let her hurt without trying to help.
