Octavia and Vinyl Scratch have been living together for nearly two years. What started as a job interview turned into a quirky but strong friendship that has left both members with firm understanding of each others lives - their lives since they met, anyway. Octavia and her orchestra have been hired to play for events on the maiden voyage of Royal Equestrian's newest flagship, the ESS Harmonious. Unfortunately, due to some administrative errors, she's rooming with another mare hired for entertainment purposes - one Miss Vinyl Scratch. However, after some initial misunderstandings, the pair seem to be starting off a good friendship.

That changes in a moment when Vinyl wakes up in the middle of the night, the world sideways and water covering the floor.

This story tells the tale of "My Roomate Is A Vampire" from the perspective of Vinyl Scratch.

When Vinyl Scratch splits up with her long time partner, Green Star, can anything or anypony make her happy again? She is told by her friend to return to ponyville to get some rest, so she does, but somepony has their heart set on her. (rated teen for older content in later chapters)

Author's Note: I wanted to do something different with the Octavia/Vinyl Scratch pairing. In all the stories I've read, Tavi was the reserved, more quiet one while Vinyl was the party girl. But what if it were the other way around? What if Vinyl was the more reserved one and Tavi the wild girl? This is my attempt to expand on that idea.

There was only one explanation. For all of it. All of the strange, erratic behavior. Her irrational fear of the sun. Her nocturnal habits of locking herself in in the dark and closing all the blinds. Wearing her sunglasses everywhere, even inside! It was time to invest in some silver, garlic, and a wooden stake.

Living as an independent DJ has given Vinyl Scratch a rough life. Things are not easy, and they're getting tougher. When she meets Octavia Philharmonica, she finds herself entranced as well as filled with resentment. Only time will tell if their connection through music will spawn a beautiful relationship or a formidable rivalry.
