Unwilling to let an accident ruin the DJ's reputation on the callous whims of Canterlot's elite, Fancy Pants decides to make a risky investment into counter-culture and help Vinyl get back on her hooves. Fluttershy is no stranger to making friends with animals, and is no stranger to some of those animals being weird and unique in their own way. But she's never encountered an animal like this before.

The pegasus finds what appears to be a stray black cat one day and takes him in out of the kindness of her own heart. But this black cat can talk and has his own name: Salem Saberhagen.

When the initial shock of a talking cat wears off, Fluttershy becomes interested in Salem as she seeks to understand what makes the black cat who he is. As for Salem, he mostly cares about having something to do while all by himself in an unfamiliar world.

"I would say I was the king of darkness or former king of the crystal empire. But now, I am In a predicament where I have been transformed back to an infant, lost all my powers, and now sit next to the world's first alicorn baby."

"And to make matters worse, I must re-live my life from an infant without the blessing of my powers. Did I ask for this? NO! Do I want to go through with this? Absolutely not! Do I have a choice on the matter? Nope!"

Rainbow Dash forgot to get a Nightmare Night costume. It's a good thing Rarity just so happens to have she needs. Well, what's left that is.
