Spike grows too big for the town of Ponyville. He decides to leave, leaving a heartbroken Rarity with an unconfessed secret behind.

A slight alternate portion of "Best Night Ever". Instead of going off to Pony Joe's to sulk and drown his sorrows, Spike sneaks around the Gala, discreetly playing pranks on Prince Blueblood every time he does something jerkish.

[GoldenVerse side fic.] After Raindrops brings up some unsettling facts about Spike, Twilight and Rarity are forced to take a look at themselves and their treatment of a young Drake who has been a major part of their life. For Twilight, it's the role of a mother who's taken for granted and ignored her son for most of his life. For Rarity, it's the treatment of a very special friend as free labor.

After their bout of introspection, they work to make it up to him, and grow themselves along the way. This is the Momma Twi, Sparity fic I mentioned in the comment section of "Getting Ready".

First fic of the Goldenverse: Golden Wings

Elusive adores his little princess, Spines. However, dating a dragon comes with some unique challenges such as making sure your furniture is flame retardant, always keeping extra gems around in case Spines gets hungry... or how to handle your girlfriend's growth spurts.

Rarity the most regal, fashionable, diva in all of Ponyville lives her life as the envy of mares everywhere, but outward appearances cover what is truly inside. She's dated many stallions, but they only wanted her as a trophy. She thought about switching teams. One night alone with a colleague dismissed that immediately. Not knowing what or who is right for her she decides to leave romance out of her life, but one dragon's return may turn that around.

Rarity keeps having dreams about a certain purple dragon, and they're driving her mad, but she loves them...

This is a side story to Twelfth Equestriad Interview. The first couple of scenes are adapted from part of its Chapter 4: "Second Break," from which it continues and on which it expands.

Rarity has a problem with the way Spike snuggles with her at night. Instead of holding her in his arms like she wants, he simply lays on top of her, smothering her every night. She hates to do it, but she waits until he falls asleep and then pulls herself out from under him, curling up into a small ball in what space is left on the bed. She knows things have to change, but after she brings up the subject, she fears that she may have just done more damage than good.

Spike loves Rarity.

Written for The Writeoff Association's "Things Left Unsaid" contest.

"What happens when you change so much that you don't recognize yourself? What happens when you push everypony away to fit in, even going so far as to shatter your own heart in the process? What do you do to fix everything while you still can?"

Over the years Spike and the rest of the Elements of Harmony have seen a dramatic change with Rarity, even going so far as to degrade the quality, the uniqueness of her dresses. Only after confronted by Twilight and breaking Spike's heart does she finally see what has become of herself. Determined to fix it though, she sets out across the land of Equestria to try and rediscover who she is.
