JusSonic

Hey folks. JusSonic here, finally sending fics here. While I was worried about coming here for some time now, I decided to give this place a shot...as long as you be fair, 'kay?

E

A slight alternate portion of "Best Night Ever". Instead of going off to Pony Joe's to sulk and drown his sorrows, Spike sneaks around the Gala, discreetly playing pranks on Prince Blueblood every time he does something jerkish.

Hmm.

This reads much like "Owl's Well That Ends Well", only we're supposed to root for Spike now, despite him being a jerk himself.

I think this has two main issues:

The first one is Disproportionate Retribution. Blueblood pinned a rose to his own lapel, and for that he gets things thrown at his head? Hard enough to knock him over? That's a bit much, and that's how things start off. Remember, Gilda had a whole day to show what a jerk she was; things didn't escalate like this. Plus, she wasn't actually meant to suffer through that Humiliation Conga by the pranksters in question, who are both of the opinion that pranks aren't meant to be hurtful. So, the premise of this being karmic is already questionable.

Which brings me to the second point: Nopony calls Spike out on how he acted. No, he's rewarded with it by the very thing he always wanted. Considering how Pinkie feels about pranks, it's a little strange that's never brought up; or that Rarity feels the way she does, considering she tried to mediate when Trixie humiliated her friends on stage instead of being all for retribution.

I must agree with Derpsby... That's all I can say.

Mate, don't let the people who can't handle good justice when it happens get you down. I had a good laugh with this story, which I can only assume was the point of it (gestures head to "Comedy" tag) and would like to point out that not many people had sympathy for Blueblood at the end of that episode when Rarity splattered cake on him and these prank were just that, a reaction when he did something douchy. Only this time is was Spike doing them to protect Rarity's good time at the Gala that she was so excited to attend. Something you might call vigilante justice which you very much support if you enjoy any superhero movie/comic/cartoon. Once again good story and keep up the good work. :pinkiehappy:

I found this story a bit enjoyable...I mean Spike did wanted to save Rarity from embarrassing herself. And while the pranks were a bit much, you can't deny that Blueblood didn't deserve it a little...right ? :ajsmug:

So thank you for the enjoyable story. :raritywink:

Actually, if you've read the end carefully, it shows that Rarity did acknowledged that what happened to Blueblood was Spike's doing. He was doing it to keep Rarity was being unhappy and embarrassed by Blueblood who was acting snobby and rude to her throughout the whole episode.

I know. What I meant is
a) Pinkie doesn't like pranks to be mean and she doesn't confront Spike about it, and
b) Rarity doesn't like fighting like this, so it's strange that she would reward Spike for doing it.

Really, the problem is mainly in how you start off and how you end things. The apple to the head was too much for the beginning, and Spike being rewarded like that was too much at the end. That's why I couldn't enjoy it. It's not a bad story, but these things, I found a bit aggravating.

When in read a story like this the show plays as it,s told:pinkiecrazy:

SO. MUCH.WIN!

Dear Princess Celestia,
