Twilight has a problem. After a noble by the name of Duke Bull Horn comes to her castle demanding that she take his son to the Gala as a date, Twilight loses her temper and lets it slip that she already has a date. Fearing the criticism she will get it she indeed does show up without a date, Spike suggest that she take the Captain of her recently formed guard, Flash Sentry. While Twilight initially rejects Spike's idea, Flash himself willing volunteers to take her so that she can avoid the criticism that the Duke might pin on her should she show up alone.

Will the Gala be better than the first one Twilight attended, and will this date become something more? Or will the nobles ruin everything and cause the night to go down in flames?

Brief disclamer: this story is meant to be a prequel to my first story "Gone, But Not Forgotten," though I only realized it could be prequel about 4000 words into typing it, so excuse if it somehow has minor inconsistencies.

The new couple Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry finally go out on a date. At first, they had expected the experience to be relaxing, though unfortunately...Rainbow Dash forcefully dragged them out of Twilight's castle and forced them to train! Soon after a strenuous, but fun race, Twilight realizes that she hasn't preened in a while...Flash can sense it. Flash Sentry and Rainbow Dash are going to teach Twilight how to preen properly. This first date couldn't have ended sweeter...

Twilight Sparkle’s best friends discover she has new found feelings for Flash Sentry, a guardstallion of the Crystal Empire. They attempt to bring the two together, but when things do not go exactly as plan, Twilight is forced to overcome past events that have come back from its resting place to haunt her conscious.

(A reboot of the Twilight's Love Story series. Since quite a few major things will be changed from the previous version, as well as a much bigger diversion from the original show (hence the alternate universe tag), I am posting this as a separate story.)

On her first day at Canterlot High, the Twilight Sparkle of the human world learns that it wasn't just her new friends who mistook her for her royal Equestrian counterpart. Realizing that what had seemed like a harmless brush-off to her may have in fact broken the heart of nice-guy Flash Sentry, Twilight becomes determined to make it up to him. What better way to do that than to set him up on a date with the girl of his dreams-or at least, a close proximity to her?

It's a crazy plan to be sure, but it just might be crazy enough to work. Best of all, it's completely risk free. After all, there's no way either of them could develop feelings for each other, right?
