Princess Luna tripped and fell while dreamwalking, causing the night visions of everypony in Equestria to merge with one another. Now it's up to Twilight and her friends to group up in the dreamscape and "kick" the Princess of the Night awake.

Celestia's letters from Twilight have been rather disturbing of late and covered in confectionery residue. Sugarcube Corner's profits have gone up as well as the crime rate. As Celestia takes it upon herself to discover what is happening in Ponyville however, she quickly realizes what has happened. But things are not always as small as they seem on the surface. The true question looms on the horizon when the mastermind behind this plot (heehee plot) is revealed.

After discovering a package filled with a strange-smelling plant on her porch, Twilight finds a note inside saying to smoke it with the glass device included. She has no idea what's going to happen, but like a good faithful student, she sends her findings to Princess Celestia.

My name is Octavia Harmonious Melody, and I am mentally deranged… No no, I assure you, I'm quite serious. For the past three years I have lived with a voice inside my head, a crazed, lunatic of a voice, who I, through the displeasure of living with for the past three years, have come to almost befriend...

Now my childhood friend-turned-enemy, Vinyl Scratch, is inviting me to further my musical prowess by living under the same roof as her, and as much as I can barely stand the sight of her, she represents what may be my last chance at closure and sanity. The irony of which being that I'm sure she's already insane, if not pushing me towards it.
Although, to her credit, she's a nice enough mare, maybe if I could stop the voice in my head for a minute we could grow to become friends again…

As I wake up, my head aches and my throat burns. Where am I? How did I get here?

Blurry memories of pain and suffering fade in and out as I try to identify my surroundings. There is a vague familiarity to the place but I don't know why.

I begin to ask myself many things. What am I doing here? Where is "here"? Why can't I remember anything? Why can I not even remember my name?

All the same, I can only manage to recall but a few precious memories. Something is very wrong with this place. And my friends—friends whose names I do not even remember—are in terrible danger. Something very bad has happened to this place and everypony in it. My body becomes cold and I am denied every other thought except for one:

I must escape.

After Nightmare Moon was purged from Luna's body, it left her completely and utterly weak. Struggling to perform even the most basic of spells, she has been spending a lot of time in her quarters trying to regain her strength, but recently she's been dealing with horrifying nightmares that assuage her night after night, each worst than the last.

After a particularly bad nightmare, Luna starts to lose hold of what is real and what is fake, and it is up to her caring and loving sister to help her through her ordeal.

A sleeping Rarity mysteriously appears in her friends' beds, and nopony knows how or why. Her friends are determined to discover the truth behind Rarity's night-time snuggling spree.

In the future, we'll colonize the solar system, cure cancer, clone the human genome, and build trans-dimensional hoodies that can summon tiny talking horses from an alternate universe.
