It was 16 Years when Twilight Sparkle was exiled from Equestria before the Changeling invasion. Equestria fell not long after, and ponies from all over the devastated nation are searching for places of refuge from the swarms of parasites patrolling the sky. Twilight's friends have searched for years trying to find a safe haven for their families as well, and they have finally found a single location not tainted by the Changelings. The only problem; it was founded by Twilight herself.

Upon eavesdropping on a conversation between Rarity and Twilight Sparkle, Spike discovers what his "true love" really thinks of him, and after reminiscing on his thoughts about it, he slowly begins to drift away from his friends. With sorrow and despair in his heart, Spike runs away from home, and runs into an old enemy that tries to help him out.

However, after realizing what she has done, Rarity begins to realize and discover that she has feelings for Spike after all, but can she save him before it's too late?

It's been two years since the races of Equuis have reached out to the stars. Two years since the first jumpship, Seabound, first hopped between planets.

Now, while running a VIP around on a tour of the Six Worlds they've claimed, the Seabound has the luck (no matter how cursed it might seem) of meeting the nearest galactic neighbors. The same neighbors whose jumpship crashed from the sky years ago, who ponies and griffons copied the technology of to reach the stars: humanity.

It's first contact.

This is it. The culmination of nearly seventy years of planning. Conversion is about to begin. And then something goes terribly, horribly wrong.

When the magical storms subside, Equestria lies in ruins; Celestia herself is in a coma. Help comes from the Crystal Empire, but it is not enough, and more ponies are dying every day. Worse, Twilight Sparkle, one of her core beliefs shattered, has fled into the Everfree forest. The situation goes from bad to hopeless when the humans arrive; the ponies prepare to fight, aware that they are horribly outclassed. But war is the furthest thing from humanity's mind...

Author Note: Thorn of the Earth is getting cancelled, however this is merely because at some point in the future I plan on rebooting it as I have grown in my writing talent and I believe a reboot would be better for it.

One day a large object falls from the sky and crashes into Ponyville. While the town still remains a large portion of it has been destroyed by the alien object. This story consists of documents, records, and verbal accounts surrounding this event, taking place before and after the impact.

The story is much like a "found footage" story. It was also slightly inspired by a few videos I have seen such as Earth to Echo (except without the cute little robot/alien thing) and District 9 (except without the foul language, brutality, and prawns).

I guess they somehow managed to "glance over" the good parts that humans have actually done, despite the odds that they have stood against.

Pfft. I never really was the philosophical type. It just wasn't my jazz, ya know what I mean? A DJ just doesn't do the groove when it comes to things that doesn't ring with them.
