Yet, neither side was completely ignorant of the other. On Earth, there was the show "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" and in Equestria there was the ever popular movie serial "The Dark World: Technology is Courage" which was a favorite of colts everywhere as well as the "Pumans".

And now both sides learn through an event that the other is real. Come join us as we watch as both sides learn to work and live together. And as they find out that events on their respective fiction was not as nice as it seemed as we widen the lenses of the view points...

The Canterlot Caverns are a strange and enigmatic place, untouched and forgotten by pony-kind for centuries. So when a strange metal object is unearthed in their depths, it's up to Twilight Sparkle and Lyra Heartstrings to discover the many secrets it holds.

Together, the two of them will have to do their best to understand the remnants of an ancient civilization, and decipher what remains of Those Who Came Before.

As it turns out, this story is eerily similar to Lyra Heartstrings and the Hand of Man. Due to their similarity, I feel that it would be appropriate to give said story a mention.

It's not quite as easy for Fluttershy as it used to be, being the only animal caretaker in Ponyville. She still tries to make time to visit her friends and go into town to talk to everypony, but it just seems like she just doesn't see them as much as she used to. Maybe only once a month if not less than that. Her friends are still there for her and care for her even with her unusual new appetite. Yes indeed, things have been going a little glum for the formerly-living Element of Kindness. Spike has been missing for three years. Why he disappeared is a mystery to everypony. What caused him to leave in the first place, and why is he suddenly back now? He's acting cold towards his old friends and won't reveal why. He's lost his love for Rarity and is treating everypony he comes across the same way Gilda did.

The Elements of Harmony didn't fix everything that Discord did. Three months later ponies are still finding isolated pockets of vandalism, and Twilight now works part time to help fix them. When another is found deep within the Everfree Forest, she suddenly has her work cut out for her.

A patch of alien landscape now exists within the Everfree, close to the corpse of an enormous monster. The only problem is that the monster is from their world, and Princess Luna believes that whatever killed it, isn't. Now Twilight must find this new monster, and either send it back, send it to Tartarus, or in any other way she sees fit, make absolutely certain it is no longer a threat to Equestria.

Meanwhile, from the monster's point of view...

Canderous Nord was just a simple pilot in the universe of New Eden, doing whatever he can do to get by, yet he soon finds his way into the ranks of the Gallente Federation Navy. But an expedition through an ancient stargate goes awry, sending he and his division into another part of the universe, one filled not with other humans, but with ponies. Now Canderous, with some help from the new-found species, must find a way to return to their home.

Rarity is accidentally sent to a dark, frozen alternate reality, where the pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies never resolved their conflict. In a world where unicorns are hunted and killed, Rarity's friends rush to her aid, only to find themselves quickly enmeshed in a great war, in a world in need of heroes.

The Order vindictively hunts unicorns and rules its citizens with an iron hoof. They claim the unicorns are responsible for the endless winter, and they claim their ruthless tyranny is necessary for the survival of ponykind against the cold, and they may be right.

The Ceruleans claim The Order must fall, that its cruel reign is what brings the winter, and the Ceruleans are willing to fight to bring a blue sky once more.

It is a world of heroes and villains on both sides, of powerful secret weapons that threaten to change the world forever, of powerful secret societies with mysterious and ambitious goals, and where magic is threatened by the dawn of powerful new technology. It is a world in turmoil, and a world in need of heroes of every kind.
