Ahh good old Dodixie, I have some funny memories involving that system involving smart bombs and a kick out station with alot of soft squishy frigs, pods, and haulers flying around, and my security status going to -10 from +5.0 in 10 seconds flat.
Oh by the way i am surprised this does not have either dark or tragedy tags to it, this is New Eden we are talking about. Also you should probably add a crossover tag to it because it is a cross over with the eve universe.

Speaking as a EVE Online pilot, this is going quite well so far. Nords final 'farewell' to Malak is probably quite accurate to the sort of message that would be sent in game.

The description sounds like it's a Metroid crossover.

Players are controlling a capsuleer in EVE, seeing that the main characters name of this fic is the same as a players, I assume it's a capsuleer.
I was a bit annoyed that you got one of the fundamental parts of EVE lore wrong. Otherwise I think it's a good start and I'll read on.

Very few players know that, not to mention that ALL capsuleers can walk in stations now, so they are not always in their liquid-filled capsules. And yes, the name in this fic is the same name as a player in EVE.
Let me guess, the EVE gate has reopened? Hmm, space ponies perhaps? I look forward to read your future chapters.
A few nitpicks:
-You're switching between tenses quite often. Try to work on that.
-As somebody else already said, capsuleers don't control their ships from cockpits, but from the capsule, as the name implies.
-You said 25 million ISK don't amount to much. A planet-dweller could live his entire life in luxury for 1 million ISK. An ISK is an insane amount of money. While it may be true that for capsuleers it isn't much, this just means an ordinary capsuleer is insanely, obscenely rich.
Otherwise, this is looking quite good so far!

1. Switching tenses? Not happening
2. I was aware of this already. But if I put the main character inside of a capsule, it would make this story dry and boring. What the buck do you think was gonna happen when the major pony parts come up? That every capsule-dwelling person was just gonna sit in their bath of antifreeze and wave hello to the ponies?
3. Canderous is a "freelance" pilot, doing whatever he can to get by as the story description tells it, and buying the the larger, more powerful ships, like a Hyperion, can take quite a while for a freelance pilot.
Those nitpicks nitpicked me quite a bit. I knew someone was gonna scream about it sooner or later
