Celestia was fully aware of the risks that came with accepting this undertaking. She was fully aware that allowing Chrysalis back into not only Equestria, but into Canterlot, could easily backfire if she wasn't careful. She was aware of the panic that would ensue if word of Chrysalis' presence were to get out into the city, and she was aware that she needed to remain absolutely vigilant if things were to run smoothly.

What she wasn't aware of was that two females spending extended periods of time with each other, even if it was for official business, could be very easily seen as something else.

It likely doesn't help that their actions to follow won't exactly dissuade others from this idea.

Then, when Spike and Rarity are on a train to Canterlot for the divorce papers, their train goes off track and crashes. Neither are hurt, but after a few days in the hospital, Rarity returns with amnesia, and all Spike can do is remind her of her life all over. Can Spike rekindle their fire? Or are they doomed for divorce?

On a request from Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle and the rest of the mane six explore an abandoned mansion located deep in the woods. While doing so, they unwittingly stumble across an enchanted mirror that scrambles their DNA and pops out three brand new bouncing baby ponies. Relationships are hard. It can be the bond between friends, the blood held in common with family, or the love between lovers. All are equal complexity and take time and work from all ponies to maintain. Sometimes that breaks down and a pony has to find away to come away as unscathed as possible. Scoots faces such an issue. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash must confront her own fears and come to understand how connections can change. Mac just goes with the flow and tries to hold everything together as stoically as possible, but even the most even tempered pony can be driven a little mad by a silly thing called love and its compactions.
