Sometimes, it takes little moments and chance meetings to feel warm again.

My entry to the Right Back at it Again Contest. This story was inspired by two things: the story Coming in From the Cold by Timaeus and the song Dasher by Gerard Way. The story was originally a Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Entry during an open prompt contest where it tied for second.

The theme was 'I know you're lying, but...'. Written in the span of half an hour.

A lot has happened to Rarity in the last few years. Engagement, new business, adventure, losing a limb. But with the last, she is done with adventure and with danger, or at least, done seeking it out. For Rarity, nothing seems safe anymore, and so when Rainbow has to help with a huge freak storm, Rarity is left alone in the dark.

The dark which she has learned to fear for wholly justified reasons.

Silverstream receives a package in the mail and is excited to show it to her friends. It's revealed to be an orb-like object called a "Bubble," and it has the ability to connect anycreature worldwide within a magically generated reality. Ocellus takes interest in it.

It's beyond what she could expect.

During an evening performance at a private manor, Octavia is shown one of the rarest and finest instruments known to Equestria, a Stellar Variance cello. Just being in the same room as one is a dream come true for Octavia, but then she is given the chance to play it. It is an opportunity Octavia can't pass up, no matter the consequences.

Yet, the next morning Vinyl finds herself at the same private estate, searching for the friend and roommate who never came back.

Yona experiences the wonders of a nice cup of cocoa on a cold winter day for the first time, and she's eager to share her discovery with her friends and family back home!

Discord said he wanted to make our dreams more interesting. Add some spice to our boring nocturnal lives. Nothing dangerous – just a bit of excitement to talk about in the mornings.
