Hello there, friends. My main job here is to peruse the stories on this site, and read them. I can work as an Editor in my spare time though. I have high hopes for my new story, as well. Best of luck.

This story is a sequel to Consequences

Flying is a lot like life. Keep beating your wings and hope not to hit something at terminal velocity. Being an Alicorn doesn’t make it any easier.

Especially when you are trying your best to keep it hidden.

Since the defeat of Tirek, Blank Page has been trying his best to keep his sudden case of Alicorn hidden from the general public.

Because honestly, who would want that much responsibility?

It started when ponies started going missing. It was small towns and villages that reported them first.

After an attack on Manehattan of seemingly unknown origins, The Regal Sisters begin talks of reviving an ancient order meant to defend Equestria and the rest of the known world from threats deemed 'other worldly'.

Much to her dismay, Twilight is chosen to lead Equestria's first—and last—line of defense.

I figured I could put my ongoing misadventures in X-COM and turn them into a fic of some kind.

Kinda toyed with this idea for a bit until I was completely comfortable with it. Hope you like it! Please leave any feedback in the comments!

Celestia was having a bad week. Discord had came back from his stone prison and now her student almost went crazy. All she wants is some peace. Too bad an interdimensional time magister decided to permanently visit as well.

Oh, and that magister? He's been turned into an alicorn. And there's also another interdemensional intruder that happens to be nearby and the two hate each other. There goes the neighborhood.

This is a collab story, with its partner story being written by the awesome Silvak

Silvak's partner story: Nocturnal Mayhem

Apparently this dumb story got featured on 5/4/2017 and 5/8/2017! I don't know why, but it did!

Thrust in a position of power and responsibility he neither asked for nor wants, Thorax reaches out to his friends to help him understand what it means to rule a kingdom.

Special thanks go to Carapace and his story The Village Called Respite that inspired me to write this story.

It's the night before the 1000th Summer Sun Celebration and the Royal Guards assigned to Ponyville are arriving to secure the town. Among them is Jade Storm, the newest and youngest member of the Royal Guard. In fact, he is one of the youngest ponies ever to join the royal guard directly from the academy. He was immediately resented by his fellow guards and rumours swirled around about meddling noble families and favouritism.

Jade simply carried on as best he could since joining the guard was his dream for many years. For him, this was his way to prove he was able to stand on his own hooves. To show those ponies who turned their backs on him that he had value. Most of all, it was a way for Jade Storm to convince himself he wasn't useless like he had been told by nearly everypony he knew. Someday a chance to prove himself would arise and he would take that opportunity without hesitation.

Gore Tag: The early chapters have some violent events and descriptions of injuries that may be disturbing to some readers.

Funny isn’t it? Everypony thinks Equestria is a utopia, a place of friendship and magic where everything is just fine. But all you see is Ponyville and Canterlot. Wonderful cities to be sure, but didn’t you notice how the rest of Equestria is different? Unfortunately all your world sees are propaganda reels from our universe. But even then, you can surely see the difference.

Perhaps you’ve noticed how the country isn’t run as such. Of course we have princesses, but when they hold court all they do is solve small disputes, little issues, they help two enemies become “friends”. They resolve matters of the greatest important to the individual, but of no importance to the nation. If they did anything it’d involve stumbling into a town, forcing ponies to shake hooves and hoping for the best. There are no real laws, the only law here is friendship.

Perhaps this system works. I’m certainly no authority on the matter, but I’d like you to entertain the idea that it could be improved. Just a thought. Oh but what do I know? I’m only a lieutenant in Her Majesty’s Royal Guard. I am a pawn in their machine, ready to do their bidding, absolutely loyal to my celestial masters.

All I suggest is that someone should help them fix Equestria. Someone who can look beyond friendship. Who me you say? Forgive me, but I am but a guard. I pledge only to do my duty, that is all. Whatever that may entail...

Disclaimers and additional notes:

One doesn’t need to have seen or read either version of House of Cards or have an intimate understanding of politics to understand this story. It is only a parody in the loosest possible terms, that being it is about power and politics.

This story is not meant to endorse or reflect any real world political opinion or candidate. It is a work of fiction based on my observations of the political landscape in Equestria and the absurdity of such a society.

As I began writing this in 2014, the canon may differ from the show. I have attempted to keep it accurate up to at least season 4. There are certainly references to things that happen later than that, but beyond a certain point I’m pretty loose with show canon.

Not sure if all tags are correct, will edit as required.

For my fan’s convenience: This story takes place in an alternate timeline of the Equisverse. No storyline beyond that of The Bridesmaids, Horseshoes, Dinner at Ravenloft, The Queen is Dead, All Hail the Queen, Lyra-7%, and Nightmare happens or will happen in this timeline. However, some world events, elements of the setting, and concepts from other works of mine apply, but this only pertains to foundational concepts such as thaumaturgic current. This is the more “serious” timeline.

This story is a sequel to Deer Me: Black Snow

At ages twenty-four and twenty-two respectively, Stelimus and Copper Blossom have become the new king and queen of the Tundran Deer, but it isn't without difficulty. Not only is their inexperience in such an important position impactful, but also because Anglacite's venom still courses through the minds of the deer who refuse to acknowledge a union between deer and pony-song and the death of such an 'eternal' figure. Unfortunately, Stelimus' mother remains locked in the laboratories and Grimliss is the only one that can keep the order as an advisor. Without Grimliss, Stelimus fears what might happen to him and his 'queen'.

Things don't seem to get better when the god-king invites the rulers of Equestria, creating more tension amongst the deer. An unexpected and as-of-yet unknown group arrives at the same time, surprising everyone with one bit of information:

"We know what the Black Snow is."

Stelimus and Copper end up traveling over seas to a land untouched by pony and deer and touched by a miasmic aura bizarrely familiar by Stelimus.
