Octavia has already accepted Vinyl's bisexuality. In fact, they 'flirt' with each other constantly. But what happens when Octavia invites Vinyl to stay the night? It has been ten years since Octavia has seen her mare friend Vinyl Scratch since they parted ways for their careers. But when the cellist meets Vinyl again she noticed something was very off about her. It turned out her fears were true after receiving a call for help from the DJ. Only thing is that seeing Vinyl again just unlocked a hidden trail of a murderer. Octavia must find out who the pony is and what was his motive for hurting Vinyl. But sniffing around might lead to more trouble for both Octavia and Vinyl. She won’t be alone of course, she’ll have old friends helping her including, Lyra Heartstrings, Bonbon, Apple Fritter, Beauty Brass, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle and Ditzy Doo.

Can Octavia and her friends uncover this murderer’s plot in time or will her efforts to save the mare she loved come too late?

Vinyl goes to band camp. She meets Octavia, a shy girl. She puts out the effort to get Octavia to talk to her, and a fast friendship forms. After spending a summer together, one of them may be falling in love.

Several months after moving to Ponyville, Vinyl and Octavia are planning their upcoming wedding. With help from friends like Lyra and Bon-Bon, what could possibly go wrong?

After long years of playing for royal festivities in Canterlot, Octavia's musical skills start to plummet. She still has the talent, but she has no motivation, or inspiration to move on any further with her career. After meeting another musically inclined pony, Octavia start's to feel her inspiration kicking in, and she starts to fully understand why it has.

On the other hoof, Vinyl Scratch discovers what the power of music can truly do, and how friendship can only go but so far before it turns into something much more.

Every pony in Equestria knows the names Octavia Philharmonica and Vinyl Scratch. Every musician in Equestria knows and reveres their talent and most semi-jokingly complain that Octavia and Vinyl's relationship should count as a monopoly on musical talent. Very few know their early story, years ago when Octavia had only just left Canterlot Conservatory and Vinyl was... well, being Vinyl.
