I'm not sure if you've read any of my other 2nd person human x pony romance stories, but in them humans have come to Equestria courtesy of Princess Celestia. And it's her belief (which may be flawed) that having humans there will help enrich Equestria. One of my most popular 2nd person human x pony stories, "More Than Their Customer" gives a little more detail on it, but leaves Celestia's reason a bit of a mystery and that's how I wanted it. Hope that helps answer your question.

I'm confused. Doesn't anyone remember Starlight's flashback from the Season 5 finale "The Cutie Re-mark - Part 2"? When Sunburst gets his cutie mark both his parents congratulate him and take him away from Starlight. And I know it's repeated in the season 6 pilot "The Crystaling - Part 1".

By the way, how old is ANon here? Stellar Flare can be between 35 and 45 at most, but does Stelar KNOWS Anon's age? is not mentioned in the fic in either case, so they may have mentioned it to each other behind scenes or not.

Yeah, I was wondering that myself, in a vague sense.
I figured Anon on being relatively young, personally. Usual age, around 25, maybe 30. Though this story's Anon is less of a giggling (sometimes) fool and more mature than most Anons, so I could see him being on the older side of things, not that age necessarily equates to maturity (though it often helps).
I can definitely see ponies living longer than humans do, on average. Could follow the common headcanon that magical power relates to natural lifespan giving advantage to unicorns especially, though some think the hardyiess of Earth Ponies would give them an advantage over the other races in that department. So a difference in age would actually be preferable to some extent. Doesn't hurt that humans would probably have a harder time determining ages, possibly especially with unicorns.In any case, outside of the elderly (like Granny Smith) ponies seem to keep their appeal to late in life.

You know that’s what I love about reading clop, you can really tell when an author is a virgin or not; and before anyone gets all upset about that comment I just want to make it clear that there isn’t anything wrong with that.
I just find it amusing because it brings me back to when I was an awkward teenager and the dialogue in this story is the absolute definition of awkwardness that I’d expect of anyone like myself back then.
