There are a lot of memorable (and specially hilarious) passages, such as "Vinyl shivered at the memory of being chased out of a colt’s bed by his mother, brandishing her old army sword.", but this one takes the cake:
This here made me wonder if the ponies have any true idea on how small and cute they are to humans. I mean, a third of the height means they're but two foot tall fluffy balls of adorableness. They trying to be marely must have looked like a diabetes attack for our human. "Predatory presence" indeed!
That does put their size into perspective, though. Are they really that small or was it only Octavia's hyperbole?

Yes, perhaps a third is a bit of an exaggeration.

In my mind, adult ponies range somewhere between #5 and #4, with Celestia being close to a #3. So, big enough to have buildings and tools more-or-less compatible with humans, but small enough to pick up and cuddle.

Hmm so 4's tail line, I guess. Crotch/hands tall, perfect for headpats (aww yiss). Cute pines be cute. And likely have tall enough buildings due to pegasi or something like that. There are probably places, such as old time earth pony towns, where the buildings would be shorter.
The ponies still haven't fully realized they're absurdly cute and cuddly for humans, have they?

I've never been a fan of this blank reader stand-in. You could just make a character instead, because the moment you give this suited plank of wood any personality at all he's no longer a reader stand-in but a character with no face or name.

Doesn't need a name in my opinion, I hear anon I think "ah a human stand in". I hear George Michel, Janice Hooper, or any other blatant human name I instantly think "is this another wish fulfillment self insert?" and start feeling dirty. Making it an anonymous human feels less personal and for some fics where the point is human reacts to pony and that's a good thing to me.

Meh. This is far more well written than most of the stories on this site and self inserts allow for anyone else to insert *themselves* if they want to. Really, I believe that the only problem with self inserts that people have is that they are usually crap. Sure I would probably prefer if the "Anon" crap was not there but I can easily ignore that and enjoy the story, if it is well structured, anyway.

While the description makes me laugh, Humans are omnivores. Probably won't make a difference from the point of view of herbivores. But, in short, humans will eat most anything. Think of magic mushrooms. "Hey, these mushrooms growing in cow crap look tasty". Or think of how many people died eating badly prepared Pufferfish before they figured out safe way to prepare it.

Well, this is a first. An RGRE fic I actually enjoyed reading.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to inform Satan that tomorrow he'll be driving to work in a snowplough.
Not bad... Interesting world building takes too. I thought I'd read this in green form but considering all the sci-fi details, this is probably new.
Right now it's a little run of the mill without the sci-fi elements, but it does the RGRE stuff well either way. I'd read more.
