Moondancer, recluse magical researcher. Caught in something of a slump with her current line of research, she winds up getting dragged to a local dance club with a few of her friends. In the absolute last place she expected to be, she found someone she never expected to have something in common with.

Antino, one of the few humans in Equestria. He's lived there for a couple of years now, but hasn't really found his 'place' in the world. Living with a roommate in Canterlot, he tends to take the occasional oddjob to earn bits. While visiting a regular haunt, he meets a mare that for some reason, just sticks in his mind.

A chance encounter with a dash of fate and a little magic.

Sometimes events are just meant to be.

- Inspired by Flammenwerfer's 'Best Friend' series.

Was rated 'E'

Now switched to 'T' because Stella has no filter and censoring her is a crime.

It's Rated E, it's a Romance, it has one of the best characters as a main. I have to read it.

8196256 - I hope you enjoy it. Chapter two is already underway~

8196258

I'm not even going to lie, I didn't just like this, I loved it. Already can't wait until the next chapter.

Going against my own set rules, it (this story) being currently incomplete, this is going in my 'Top 10' as number 10.

Ugh, this is amazing so far

8196282 - Eeeeee~ I'm glad you loved it. I'll work hard to make the rest of it just as good.

It is good to see a new story! I like it so far. I hope I don't have to wait too long for the next chapter...

A good read so far

I really like this story so far!

I've noticed a lack of Moondancer/Human stories.

I intend to remedy this.

100% ADMIRABLE 10/10 :pinkiehappy:

Eagerly awaiting chapter 2.

Aus, if you turn this into another Shifting Melodies (lengthwise) I will love you forever. I loved Shifting Melodies and I'm in my 4th or 5th reread of it currently. Keep up the great work!

8204955 - Dear goddess no. That story was over a million words long. This will be three, four chapters at most.

8205598 - Sorry. But Thad and I are working on a new, likely as long a story. Head on over to his page to read it.

Futile Resistance..

That sounds like an excellent name for an OC!

8240394 - Ya know... It kinda does. Heh, don't mind if I do~

8247052 - And rating changed to Teen.

Cheers for pointing that out mate.

Moondancer is such a cutie patootie! I can't wait to read more. :rainbowkiss:

Stella is fun, but Midnight Song is sexier. :rainbowwild:
Poor Moony, you didn't know that you fell!
Keep going! ;)

8248080 - All batponies are sexy.

Funny you should mention Midnight and Stella... hehehe.

Antino’s collection of friends was a varied as a box of mystery chocolates.

Moondancer, I'd like to introduce you to an acquaintance of mine:

Goddammit Stella.

I get the feeling she hears that a lot from humans. :rainbowlaugh:

And I officially love Stella (Never got around to reading the original fic featuring her).

In a way, I am reminded so bluntly of Cait, sheesh.

Anyway, amazing chapter! Gah, I'm falling more and more in love with this story as it goes :derpytongue2:

8253081 - Stella is amazing. Look forward to her next chapter too. And I'm glad you're liking it so far.

Always willing to serve as a replacement muse.

Muses wield huge foam cluebats to bonk you over the head with, right?

8286998 - That they do my friend. That they do.

This story has weird continuity problems. Antino was sick for a month and then he was never sick. The cocoa turned to coffee and back in the space of a paragraph. And...there was another one but I lost it. Gonna have to try going through again.

Oh yeah. He goes from being one of the only humans to the only human.

8287145 - I can't believe I screwed all that up. Right... guess I need to fix some crap

She's caught on! But the real question she should ask herself: "would it matter if she was?"
So cute everywhere!
Keep going! ;)

That Iron Sky reference, hilarious! Very absurd movie, but oddly entertaining too, especially with "Sarah Palin" as president.

Seems like someone else already caught onto your continuity issues, so there's that. Otherwise, this is an interesting story with quite the potential.

8287139 - Okay, I found the sickness one. But I can't find the coffee to cocoa error, nor the 'only human' one.

as she watched the glutenous mares

Oh, that is an odd image.

8288083
Moondancer asks how many sugars he wants in his.

And Lyra says "one of the only humans" in the first chapter.

8288791 - Right, found the human error in chapter two and fixed that. But there's no coffee error. Moondancer never even mentions it.

8289315

“I’ll get started on that cocoa…”

"Huh?” Moondancer looked puzzled as to why he was clapping, but turned back to her kettle. “How do you take it?”

“One sugar thank you,” he replied and looked around.

“Thank you,” he nodded as he took a sip. Hmm, not bad. Could use a touch more powder though. And probably use boiled milk over boiled water. Still, it was good. “So, you live here all alone then?”

8289408 - Yes, she never mentions coffee in the slightest. She's using instant cocoa powder, and he has one sugar in it.

8289774
I'm going to put forth a guess that Australian instant cocoa powder is very different from American instant cocoa powder, which is generally overly sweet and full of tiny dehydrated marshmallows. Asking if you want sugar in it would be largely unthinkable.

8290157 - Yup. Here its called hot chocolate and it's just a power, much like instant coffee, only not quite as bitter. And Antino is a lot like me in that he has a massive sweet tooth. So even his coffee is usually quite sweet.

Why are the majority of mares lesbians?

I like how absolutely nopony who's run across Stella can resist giving her a cameo.

No, I'm not throwing stones. I'm serious. Hell, I'm guilty of it. :twilightsheepish:

8784718 - because Stella is amazing

“Aye,” Stella sighed. “Same, I have a shift for most of the day…” She looked at Minuette thoughtfully and smiled. “Mind you, maybe I’ll take a snack home with me~”
“Eh?” Minuette blinked as he bat threw a wing around her, leading her to the door. “Oh… um… okay? Bye Moonie! I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“If ya can still walk by the time I’m done,” Stella purred and nipped her ear as she tugged her out of the door.

I like this story but really why is everyone a lesbian?
