This is an Equestria that took a different turn when Discord was released. The mane 6 were corrupted by chaos and were defeated. Without them, Cadance and Shining Armor had no chance at defeating the returning King Sombra and became his obedient crystal ponies; Shining being his 'avatar'. And Luna. Poor Luna. Her sister lost to the new king, Luna found herself succumbing to an ancient memory.
Now the survivors of Equestria live in Vanhoover: a city where great technology grows to bring about the life of the survivors and the changed changelings. It is protected by Empress Scootaloo, Grand Inquisitor Sweetie: Leader of the Sweetie Sisters of Battle, and Kommisar General Bloom: Head of technological development. All three lived through a tragic past and do all they can to fight against the encroaching powers of chaos, darkness, and crystals to bring just a little more light to the lives of those they protect and watch over.
Equestria has been sealed off from the rest of the world by means of an ancient spell cast by Luna, but when one universe has four and its relatives have three, a fourth must rise, and its ancient age and powers over pure darkness ensure that this will not be a simple firecracker in a sea of gunpowder. Although light isn't the only thing can be corrupted.
Based on my good (and unwilling 
) friend Gates McCloud's comic series CMC 10k. He wanted me to point out that this is not handcanon to his comic series and is my personal spin-on. Think of it as an alternate reality. If you don't follow the string theory, then the idea of alternate realities should be easy.
(Yeesh. Too many characters to implement. There is Sombra and Nightmare Moon and Trixie and Discord and so many more...help me. I believe there might be slice of life moments while I write, but this is too outworldly to warrant the tag. There are also minor elements of comedy here and there as I find a way to place them in)

ok, ok where to beginn... it's kinda interesting and then again... not? i have a bit of mixed feelings with this... well i will just be brutally honest with my own opinion so far. i hope i don't offend you in anyway and if i do i am deeply sorry...
So first of all i'm just very confused with... well, about everything actually! in the beginning of the chapter 2 you say that Cadence is Crystalestia but apparently they are not the same so i'm guessing that's a typo? Still confusing (and the names are just stupid...) then Sombra says something about a fight with a "librarian" which i presume would be twilight but later we find out that she is already a monster by that time... or is she? I mean what the heck is going on?
Then the "liberated" Slaves... the way you discribe them in detail and give them names and everything indicates that they are somehow important characters but i'm just not feeling it... i'm actually not really sure why that is...
Then the thing with Abstract...i kinda get mixed message from him. in the first chapter he seems arrogant and kinda "ragey" and just a cooler looking Sombra clone, in the second he seems calculating and uncaring, so what exactly is he? and is he the protagonist of the story? the summary of the story suggests outerwise and i only get the "villain" feeling from him... So is he important? Should i care about him? Should i care about his Slaves? Or will they all die in the next Chapter like the guy in the first chapter? Having to question yourself stuff like this is kinda bad i think... So now a villain fights another villain and i must say i really don't care what happens...and that kills any possible excitement for me...
i don't even know enough of the world to understands if it would make any difference for anyone if either side would win.... like for example "oh no, if Abstract loses Sombra gets a new body and that would be really really bad for ...." yeah, for who WOULD that be bad anyway? I think not introducing the main protagonists by now really really hurts the story...
i mean, don't get me wrong the first chapter was nice, it sets this interesting dark atmosphere and makes appetite for more but by the end of chapter two i don't have any emotial bound to any of the characters, don't really know what is going on anyway, and a fight is about to happen were the outcome doesn't matter at all, at least from my point of view because i don't like either of the two fighting sides and have no idea what the consequences would be anyway... that leaves me kinda at a loss if i even want to read on... but then again the worldbilding and atmosphere seams nice so right now, i really don't know if i like the story or not...

Actually, Abstract is kinda...adaptive, shall we say, so he is not only arrogant and 'hautain', but also cold and calculating. Also, pffff. No. Sombra won't get a new body if Abstract dies. There is no true 'possession' in this series, but you'll learn why as the five adventure. They ARE the protagonists, though. I'm trying something different from the usual 'Follow the hero. Ignore the bad guys' trope.
Also, he's not a clone. I developped him long before the third season came out and even have a story to prove it. If anything...SOMBRA IS THE CLONE!

And, if I'm to spoil anything for this reality, the fight actually had a purpose that Crystalestia and Sombra have not yet understood. Like Abstract said himself: His people used crystal for a variety of purposes and have absolute control over them (although Sombra's prescence hinders that aspect of 'absolute control'). In fact, Abstract has a few powers I did not show for that particular reason.
Plus, this was supposed to introduce everyone first before the actual discovery of the world, and I haven't shown anyone else because I wanted you to discover everything along with Abstract.
And yes. You should keep questioning that. I waited two years to see another comment like this! It's so much fun to see how confused I can make other people and what passes through their minds as they read.
