Really enjoying this so far. I might be biased since she's one of my favorites, but I love the Trixie subplot the most so far. What can I say? I'm a fan of performers. I also wonder how the pregnancy arc will play out. I do hope the young can at least adopt if that doesn't work out. It could lead to a moral about how family doesn't always have to be by blood.
I'm very skeptical about the racist arc though... mostly because so far, Mac being racist still feels so out of place, even after his reason for it. Some people have very deep reasons for being racist, sexist, or whateverist; most commonly, they were raised that way by a person or lived in a community that deeply believed in them. That I would buy no question.

MacIntosh is a strange fellow. If everypony around him including his own family shows they do not share his prejudice—not even his grandmother—where the heck did they come from? Just from his grandfather? Sounds a bit strange.
Also, the way Granny reacted actually didn't sit well with me at all. It was awfully abrupt and cruel. Instead of talking, bam, disowned. Doesn't put the Apple Family in a very good light overall. Somepony should tell her that.

Do you not think Granny has tried to break him of these beliefs before? Until that night, Mac had not met anypony from Neighpon (excluding Soarin, but he's only just found that out), so she got through to him the only way she could think of. Remember a certain scene in Hearts And Hooves Day, 'This one's too old'? what's going on in that scene? We'll be seeing one of those in this story.
That Coco/Wisp scene was nice. I hope Sapphira isn't scarred by this. and that Omoroca can use that whiskey to dull the memory. Why does somepony want to kill Scootaloo!?
