Meanwhile, Twilight struggles against her developing darker self, trapped in in her own mind until her antithesis is banished, or she is.

You shouldn't go gung-ho about solving every plotline, closing every loop. A good story makes people think afterwards on the 'what if'. I like what you're starting here, and will look forward to more. but really - there's absolutely nothing wrong with introducing a Chekov's Gun and then not firing it :)
Really digging this so far. Love the plot points and ideas that it's exploring, the idea that the alicorn transformation isn't just wings and a bit of powers but an entire mental process is extremely interesting. Plus I'm always a Spike fan

A lot of authors are going with this route. Spike having affection for Twilight, Twilight trying her hardest to not acknowledge them. It is a fantastic dynamic! Ohh I love it so much! But the way you protrait Luna... I honestly expected her to be like boss man's aunt. The moment you two are alone she ask what's your relationship. Honestly I cannot see Luna not noticing Spikes affection for Twilight. But you are pulling this story together perfectly! I've been reading a lot of good fics recently, non-clop.

I find it interesting, as well as a verifiable human observation, that the only thing people often focus on in their comments is the negative events of the chapter. True, Spike feels pushed to the backburner, but you'll see soon that I am not pushing this charming fellow
out of the story. In the next chapter I actually spend a lot of time with him as he wanders alone in the castle, and we also get to see how he reacts to Twilight's interest in Luna. So don't despair and jump ship because you think he's gone. He's more of an important character than ever.

I am not gonna lie... I am so pissed off! This seems interesting, don't get me wrong, the Id very interesting. The high and mighty have their secret the pure and divine have their lust. Nice. You made my brain snap. No litterally boss man's mom heard something snap. That... Revelation in the beginning had been so blunt and so matter-of-factly said that I had to step away for a moment. It was like the bitch slap you never see coming. But anywho I am beginning to see the hostility between Celestia and Luna form. I know you said it in the past Celestia and Luna are on edge, more Luna though, but to see it manifest, to read it more aptly, is something else entirely.
At first I was iffy, Celstia hate... Well general hate on a character with no reason kinda irks me, but you gave reasons for her anger. Spike on the other hand... Well I take my previous comment back. Spike you are a better man than most. Please don't change.

Sweet heavens! That was good! I came in expecting something to get me mad angry and basically get annoyed. And you didn't dissapoint! I was annoyed, enamored, and more then just a little touched. This was beautiful. I wish it had been longer but you would probably been up at some ungodly hour trying to push it. I hope the next one to be this good!
