Everything was going well for Queen Chrysalis of the changeling Swarm. She had fooled the ponies completely and the barrier that blocked her swarm was gone. Victory was all but assured as her changelings descended upon the helpless city of Canterlot.

Yet, even after all of that, there would be no victory for the changelings. A barrier of pure love would repel the invasion and bring about the end of Queen Chrysalis’s great swarm. With what fleeting magic she had left, Chrysalis attempted to slow the barrier's expansion in a desperate attempt to allow her swarm to escape.

She succeeded, but at a terrible cost. Magic drained, wings gone and chitin cracking. The only thought that went through her mind as the renewed barrier launched her through the air at close to the speed of sound was how she hoped her sacrifice was not in vain.

Then she hit the ground, and the Queen was dead. Her life ended as her broken body collided against the sand of a faraway desert. Yet her journey would not end here, for the Gardener had chosen her, and the Queen would live again.

Now armed with a strange companion and power known only as ‘the Light’ a new mare, devoid of her previous life's memories, must find her place in the world before her past returns to finish what they started.

Still takes place in Equestria not on earth

A Destiny Crossover. Knowing the lore is not needed to understand this story. I was very meticulous about that. Everything you learn, you learn with our Chrysalis.

Granny Smith built a legacy, she was the matriarch of the Apple Family for a long, long time. She is nigh 200 years old, and she knew that it would come soon.

Death from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is featured here as a character, what he does here doesn't really spoil anything, but I recommend watching the movie then coming back to read this.

This story is a sequel to Equestria Mares: The Secret Apprentice of Princess Celestia

(WARNING: Please be certain you have already read the prequel above, as this story contains massive spoilers for that tale!)

It’s been weeks after the first Princess Summit. Despite Princess Celestia’s best intentions, word has spread of the theft of the Element of Magic and the mare who took it, Sunset Shimmer. Of her transformation, and the power that threatened two worlds. For Sunset’s part, she just wants to be left alone.

Meanwhile, King Sombra is dead... but that doesn't mean he hasn't got a plan. And from the rumors he's overheard, he may have found the perfect ally for his return to power.

Sunset Shimmer read all about him as a little filly. His genius. His evil. Now, Sombra comes to Sunset in her self-imposed exile with an offer of alliance, to destroy the princesses once and for all. What will her answer be?

(Chronology note: this story takes place early during Season Four.)

There are many rules to a good horror film. Most ponies learn them with time and experience.

Twilight never did. Now, trapped in a desolate inn at the end of a long driveway, far from help, she will learn of them. Or, at least, one of them. The one Rarity, her only surviving friend, insists is keeping Twilight alive.

To everyponies misfortune, Twilight has questions, and fleeing in terror like she should will not get her the answers.

It’s going to be a bad night for the killer.

"The first time I came back, I thought it was a miracle. By the fifth or sixth time, I knew it was a curse."

Death is a reasonable fear, but it is also a constant reassurance. A promise that no matter how bad things get, they will one day end.

That promise was broken, leaving Rainbow Dash to pay the cost.

A very last minute entry for the 2024 SciFi Contest III.

Special thanks to ScreamQueen and Rb for prereading and valuable feedback.

General content warning: Some depictions of blood, death, and debilitating injuries, but no graphic descriptions. Some existential horror.

Death. For some, it is a blessing after ravaging disease or a life well lived. For others, it is an inevitability to be feared above anything else. Everyone wonders what happens after you meet the Reaper, but no one knows for sure.

Death. It comes just as surely to ponies as it does to any other creature. A part of life as natural as birth.

However, the Death that comes to ponies is more like a pony than you would expect.

In Equestria, Death has a Cutie Mark.

And with Cutie Marks come Cutie Mark Problems.

So what happens when the Reaper of Souls, the Pale Horse himself, loses touch with his purpose in life---er, death?

He seeks out the three fillies most suited for the job in all of Equestria.

Surely, if the Cutie Mark Crusaders can help so many other ponies with their problems, then they can help Death in Pony Form?

Alternatively titled The Grim Adventures of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

They called Gusty 'the Great' when she was safely dead, and gone from the world's stage. But I knew her when she was alive, and vibrant, and deadly, and the most beautiful mare I have ever seen in my long, badly mis-spent life. She fought for the right, and for justice, and against monsters, thieves, slavers, and the evil which walks in pony guise. She was, in a word, glorious.

I fear if she was alive today, she'd be right out there, outside my gates, besieging my walls, waiting for the opportunity to call me to account for my many crimes. Stars, I wish she was out there right now, screaming my name, calling for my head. I miss her so much.

Long ago, a village in Equestria was struck with a terrible plague. The ponies fell deathly ill in mere days, coughing phlegm and blood as their muscles shriveled; crops withered and died as a poisonous odor permeated the air. And if that weren't enough, strange bellowings and roars could be heard from the distant woods.

A plea for help summoned two of the Pillars of Equestria: the Mage Meadowbrook, the Mystical Mask who could cure any sickness, and the mighty Rockhoof, mover of mountains and tamer of monsters.

When they respond, the two heroes quickly determine that this is no ordinary disease. Following the trail, they find the true source of the plague, and soon must battle for not just the villagers' lives, but their own...
