Equestria has witnessed centuries of rapid technological advancement during Twilight's rule. Innovations in the production and integration of magic has led to countless improvements in the quality and efficiency of life in Equestria, and enabling ponies to finally touch the stars and new worlds. However, with the rise of more and more energy-heavy processes and a stagnation in development regarding the extraction of energy, Twilight turns to the biggest and final step in energy extraction: a dyson sphere: a massive device that would surround the sun and allow virtually all the energy released through nuclear fusion to be harnessed by Equestria.

If they fail, then the only Hearth's Warming gift they'll be receiving is heartbreak.

Starlight Glimmer is transported to the distant future against her will. She discovers an Equestria she helped create that is both amazing and sickening. It turns out this utopia has a deadly problem that only she can fix.

War has come to Equestria.  The defenders have risen- and been beaten.  The Elements are in disarray, the Royal Guard needs to regroup.  The Princesses have been unable to stop the enemy- and Discord becomes the first major casualty.  After a valiant fight, just before his death, he launches the last of his power not at the enemy, nor to his friends, but into the multiverse.  This spell has one mission:  Find hope, and bring it back.  Little does he know that the barrier his spell brought back in his last few seconds is much more than just a sturdy mountain of metal.

This is an action story, and as such, isn't very long- I apologize for that. If you're looking for something with more nuanced behaviors and less annihilation, try one of my other stories. I've got a lot of 'em.

An A.I. awakens aboard the HKS Dancer, a desolate and quiet ship. The crew of which is nowhere to be found. And in the wake of all of this the A.I. discovers something.... something peculiar.

Ten years ago, Equestria was nearly destroyed in a combined invasion of its worst enemies. Only with the timely intervention of its erstwhile human allies was the nation spared slavery and extinction. The war is over now, and the treaties of peace faithfully followed even after a decade. While earth ponies help rebuild Earth's ecosystem, human tractors erect roads and cities with terrifying speed.

Sweetie Belle helped make victory possible, but the cost of that victory was one of her best friends. Equestria is safe now, and ponies are spreading to the stars. Why doesn't she feel happier?
