The highly anticipated One Thousandth Summer Sun Celebration will take place in Ponyville, the nine hundred and ninety ninth anniversary of the first year of Princess Celestia's solo rule of Equestria. Much must be done before it can happen, especially with how busy and crowded the farm can get.

When Spike gets into an Accident Rarity attempts to rebuild him as Spike bot, but Twilight refuses and demands Rarity let her do it, after a short fight Twilight's magic mixed with Rarity's tech turns Spike into a living virus and quickly drives him insane, it's up to Sweetie Bot to keep him at bay while Rarity and Twilight try to find a way to contain him.

Faced with the implications and changes brought about by Twilight's coronation, Rarity must contend with what it might mean for their relationship. A relationship, you see, that lives and dies by the dozens of books quietly stashed away in the back of her closet. 

One day, she hopes, she'll be able to give them back.
