Happy Nightmare Night, everypony.

This story is part of my Justice League of Equestria anthology, written as a Halloween special and as the title no doubt gave away, it was inspired by the Batman story: The Long Halloween.

The Batmare will have to sink into the lowest parts of the Manehattan underworld, take on vengeful vigilantes, illusive mob bosses and a killer who seems to be far more cunning than the ones she faced before and who is always a step ahead of her.

Two months have passed since the Battle of the Bands. Aria Blaze has been abandoned by her so-called allies. She spends her mornings working minimum wage, and her nights with only a prayer to the heavens to sing one last time; not for power, not for fame--only to hear a voice tell her that hope remains.

One night, while trying to sing, Aria is visited by a certain guitarist who shows her what it really means to be adored.

Meanwhile, Sonic finds himself all alone on one of said islands, after flying into a wormhole with Tails, Zipp and Sunny. Now, separated from his friends, he has nothing but an AI voice guiding him to collect the Chaos Emeralds, not knowing that darker forces are behind him and his powers.
