And now, the story of the Apple Family who lost everything, and the one grand-daughter who had no choice but to keep them all together.

In her effort to sculpt the flawless pony, Rarity's reeducation-turned-torture goes too far. But does the mare that she has created have a name beyond lipstick, ribbon and recital? Heads will turn, gossip will fly, and the social heart of Canterlot will skip a beat. There's a new lady in town and her name is . . .

Even though Big Mac, Applejack and Granny Smith never speak about the Apple parents to Applebloom doesn't mean that they don't care. Sometimes it's just hard to speak about the dead when the ones you're talking about never even got to meet the daughter you're talking too. Sometimes it get's hard though, so you speak to them yourself.

Twilight Sparkle is called upon to negotiate trade arrangements with the griffons. Of course, all her friends join her for what should be a casual pleasure cruise in the airship Canvas Streak. After all, this is her first REAL test as a princess, and why shouldn't they support her?

Late one night, though, Applejack feels restless and goes up on deck to watch the stars. She considers her life. She considers her family. She considers her friends. She considers the freak storm approaching from the south.

In retrospect, it might have been better to let the crew handle that and head back below deck.

Now alone on a small island, Applejack must survive and wait for her friends to come pick her up... even though the freak storm is blocking them off. Surviving's easy. Waiting's easy too! She can do this.

Most cutie mark stories are happy, exciting tales of finding one's special talent. But not Mac's story. And after Apple Bloom gets into a fight at school, Big Macintosh decides it's time he told her his own cutie mark tale.

Applejack, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash really enjoy each other's company. So much so that some ponies are beginning to wonder about them. Twilight and Applejack are a couple after all, so its a bit unusual that Rainbow always seems to be invited along. But sometimes, a couple is more than two.
