But when a threat unlike any other arises to threaten the very nature of Equestria itself, and forces the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony to travel to a strange and unknown land, Cloudhammer volunteers without hesitation to escort them. But the journey will test him in ways he never thought possible, and teach him lessons in friendship not soon forgotten.

But the mission turns out to be much more than political discussions - if scheming unicorn courtiers, unfriendly surly reindeer, bloodthirsty pirates, ancient sorcery and dangerous monsters weren't enough, our heroines must deal with something old - older than Luna. And is Luna really ready for diplomatic action, will Twilight learn to use a fan properly, and exactly how wrong are Spike's superhero comics about reindeer mythology?

Edwin Shell is a human come to Equestria after his violent, early demise. He wakes up in a strange land in an even stranger body, finding colorful creatures that call themselves "ponies".
