This story is a sequel to The Dusk Guard Saga: Beyond the Borderlands

"With ever-excellent action sequences, steady and effective character growth for our two leads, and constantly high stakes, the viking once again delivers an exciting and memorable adventure." —PaulAsaran

Long ago, a city of great magical power and ability was beset by evil and sealed away beyond the scope of time. Now that seal has begun to fray.

First Lieutenant Hunter and the rest of the Dusk Guard have been dispatched. At face value, their mission seems straightforward: Secure the city. Hold until reinforced.

But nothing for the Dusk Guard is ever quite that simple, and this mission is no exception. As the city nears its return so does its ancient king, a shade who once wielded enough power to bring even immortals to their knees. And if he is allowed to regain his throne, will once more. Worse, the city may very well be under the iron hoof of his own followers, a ruthless order who will stop at nothing to see their king regain his former glory.

Dark magics. Cities lost to time. Ancient evil.

The Dusk Guard's first official mission has begun.

If you encounter what you think are typos in the story, PM them rather than clogging the comments feed with them.

Author’s note: From time to time you may encounter a hotlink in the text. These hotlinks are background themes I listened to when writing the fic and can be clicked or passed over at your own choice. It is recommended that for maximum enjoyment beforehand if you do wish to follow them, make sure that your volume settings on YouTube are at a comfortable level and make use of Ctrl+Shft+Clicking or the middle mouse button to open the song in a new tab. Be aware that there may be ads if you do not have an adblocker.

Or just don’t click on them until later. They are an entirely optional experience, and can be passed over without incident.

The Mane Six disappear from Equestria without a trace in the process of successfully saving Ponyville from a magical storm. They are presumed deceased after some time passes, and the Elements return to the Tree of Harmony.

They wake up, not as the ponies they were, in another world.

A world known as Azeroth.

Faced with a new set of challenges, can they hold onto the values they embody and the code they lived by, or will they be forced to adapt to the ways of this strange new world? A world of bloodshed and hate, of light and dark, of alien races, of undead and demons. A World of Warcraft.

(Historical note)
On recent events:

I've found the recent reports of harassment and workplace issues at Activision-Blizzard to be extremely troubling. They also come at a time when I've been playing much less of the game as it is, as a result of disengagement and disillusionment with various aspects of WoW's current gameplay and storytelling.

For these reasons, in addition to my own failure to upload regularly, I've contemplated putting Azeroth's Skies on hiatus again... or just cancelling it entirely.

However... while I may not be playing WoW at the moment, and may never do so again, I feel like fan work is something we could do with more of right now. I also don't feel like I'm finished in this world just yet. So for now, I'm going to do my best to continue the story.

I hope this makes sense, but I understand if anyone else feels differently as a result of what has happened. Thank you all for your support for this story so far.

Author's Notes:

- On the MLP side of things, this is set before Season 4 kicks off, albeit with minor references to elements from the season opener.
- On the Warcraft side, this is set shortly after the formation of the Shattered Sun Offensive, but I will be taking liberties with certain events that were placed somewhat loosely into the timeline.

Inspired by Rebirth of the Damned, by Borsuq. If somehow you've seen this and missed his excellent story, go check it out!

Now with some awesome cover art, which I commissioned from Mario Teodosio!

Rainbow Dash has a new problem to deal with. After talking with Princess Twilight, the Alicorn tells her that the Wonderbolts have some new "requirements" for their tryout applications this year. One of those being a required amount of community service hours. To help her friend, Twilight suggests to Rainbow that she go with Scootaloo and Spike on a upcoming field trip to finish her remaining hours. Eager as she is, the Pegasus takes up the princess on her idea.

The next day, everything was going alright... For the most part. When they come across a comic book exhibit at the Manehattan Museum, both youngsters convince Rainbow to go inside and take a look. As they look around, they come across one of the biggest setups at the Museum on a new comic book that has gained some popularity over the past few years because of the characters and the story as a whole. But when they check it out, the Cyan Pegasus gets a strange feeling. Like something about it seems... real?

Note: Takes place a few months after the events of Season 4. This story is a crossover that I came up with based off of Blizzard's newest game, OverWatch. This is a two part story that includes a small epilogue to the events that occurred. I hope you guys enjoy it.

OverWatch belongs to Blizzard Entertainment
MLP belongs to Lauren Faust and Hasbro.

Dark magic is a powerful and banned art believed to be long forgotten. Unbeknownst to the common Equestrian citizen, that art is very much alive and practiced in secret by less harmonious individuals. These ponies are part of a hidden society that has long opposed Celestia and her reign for well over a millennium, fighting a secret war away from the eyes of the Equestria's ignorant individuals.

When a necromancer, a vampire, and a ghost must abandon their home upon discovery, they find refuge in the town of Ponyville where they can continue their morally questionable practices. But with the inquisitive Elements of Harmony nearby, they soon find it harder and harder to hide their darkest secrets.

Slowly but surely, Twilight and her friends are drawn into their world, showing Equestria's true colors in the process; caught within a battle between light and dark. Will Twilight and her friends find fiends of pure malice or will they discover ponies with scarred and broken hearts?

This story is a sequel to Celestia

Villains rarely appear out of thin air. They start as most creatures do, but fall victim to fate, choice, manipulation... or love. Princess Luna's descent into the Nightmare is something that has been long forgotten by modern ponies, but Luna will always remember.

(Sequel to Celestia, and a part of the past that she would rather keep hidden. Reading Celestia is strongly recommended!)

Necromancers. Sickly ponies bathed in cloaks of darkness, bringing ruin to all who fall under their shadow, terror to those who meet their gaze. Ripping the dead from the grave and conscripting them to their army of evil and conquest. Woe to the towns that dare draw their interest.

Such are the legends.

This is a story about one of the kindest ponies I know.
