In the aftermath of the Changeling incursion of Canterlot during the marriage of Shining Armour and Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, Equestria gears itself for war against the Changeling menace. The truth, as ever, is far more complex, as the esteemed Blueblood is merely looking for an easy and sedate life. After returning to reality from Narmeelah's Time Pocket, Dawn and a handful of creatures witnessed a battle for magic with Twilight "Arcadia Nova" Sparkle, Saviour of Psera at the helm. Psera's military was damaged, ponies now lie dead in the streets of Equestria. Dawn was too late to put a stop to a war between her and the rest of the world.

Twilight Sparkle, the most powerful pony to ever exist, the creator of spells, mistress of the elements, and role model to millions, now awaits her sentencing for crimes against ponykind.

But a threat looms over Equus. A threat that Dawn herself has seen. A threat that will destroy all of ponykind unless Arcadia Nova is released. They won't do it. Only she remains.

Tempest Shadow had heard the rumors. Stories, told in frightened whispers by traders and wanderers, in the taverns and around campfires. The stories told of an almighty champion, a monstrous creature from far beyond the stars, that had come to defend Equestria from its enemies. The stories told it had slain dragons by the hundreds, broke the savage beasts of the Everfree like twigs beneath its boots, and torn down titans and monsters alike with its wrath. They said it wielded weapons that could turn mountains into gravel, and seas into desert. That it was clad in armor, that neither the sharpest blades, nor the mightiest magics, could pierce. The rumors said it was unstoppable, relentless, beyond the power of mare or beast to oppose, that it was. . . a god. Tempest had laughed at the rumors and stories, as she flew toward Equestria at the head of an armada, intent on the conquest of her weakling former homeland. Never once did she give the obviously absurd campfire tales even the slightest credence.

Long ago, the Seraphim granted power to the Doom Slayer that he might conquer the forces of Hell. The Doom Slayer has won, Hell lies defeated, and now he returns to the Seraphim's holy realm. After the birth of Fresh Dawn, Queen Twilight "Arcadia Nova" Sparkle of Psera is ready to begin a new life with her husband King Shimmering Madun. But Twilight has a question on her mind. Why could only she and Flurry Heart, both Equestrian, gain a boost in magic that only Pserateps could gain, evident by their wing size? The investigation begins once a sudden conference to keep Psera in an elegant dark leads her back to Equestria.

Isn't it odd that Equestria managed to pull themselves out of a metal shortage so fast? Was the question bouncing around the minds of the leaders of Equestria's allies. From Mount Aris' Queen Novo to Zebrica. Including the Dragon Lands' Dragon Lord Ember. Questions arise at the Annual International Summit located in The Crystal Empire. And why is Equestria restricting access to Ponyville and Las Pegasus?

When a bunch of plagues begin to riddle the foreign lands, it causes more questions then answers. What happened to Narmeelah? And why?

Twilight has always been the mare to go to when you have a situation. But what happened if no one looked to her for help anymore? Her sole purpose was to help ponies and give them information. That's why she loved the library. But......what now? Now that the traffic's stopped, the others , her friends, don't even talk to her when she expresses her concerns. Along with lies and things that have gone untold about her.

What now......that her sole purpose is gone?
