As promised, I have just submitted the sequel to Blueblood: Hero of Equestria, so just in case anyone who read that and wants to keep up with Blueblood's continuing misadventures, the sequel can be found here:
Enjoy! Or not, it's up to you really.
The last chapter of Honour and Blood has been uploaded, and I have marked this story as 'complete'. That, however, does not mean that this is the end. There are still plenty more Blueblood stories for me to write, but I have decided that instead of piling them all into one submission, each will be its own separate one. In hindsight, this is what I should have done from the outset, but it's a tad late for that now.
So, I should use this blog thingy to do more than make excuses. I've binged on the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron IV quite a bit lately and I've enjoyed the hell out of it. I got a chuckle out of seeing the portrait of Blueblood there wearing a peaked cap with a deathshead and I can't help but wonder if there was some inspiration from my depiction of everyone's favourite prince or if it was a fun coincidence. I even considered doing a video let's play of it, but I'm sure no one
It has been a long time since I last posted an update. To be honest, I have never been particularly good at engaging with the community that I am apparently a member of, so I think perhaps I should take steps to fix that. I've been writing Blueblood: Hero of Equestria for quite a while now, and considerably longer than I had anticipated. Now, part of it is due to the fact that I have been somewhat remiss in keeping up to my self-appointed schedule of one chapter per month (translation:
Right, good news and bad news. The good news is that I've bought an apartment and will finally be moving out of my parents' house very soon, the bad news is that sorting out the paperwork and all of the endless shopping for furniture and things has severely impacted my ability to write, meaning the next chapter will be delayed. This is made more annoying by the fact that I've also been trying to get a promotion at work, which means that I'll be able to continue paying off this mortgage
I have been writing this story for over two years now, and one rarely does anything for over two years without learning anything. As I've finished writing the latest instalment of this series, and so as I sit here with a nice cup of tea and reminisce on the last two years I've spent writing, I feel I'd like to share some things I've learnt about my writing and what I think I could have done better.
Hi all. I'll be taking a short break from writing to indulge in the usual Christmas traditions of getting as drunk as humanly possible, while still able to sit at the dinner table and stuff my face with turkey, of course. As such, the next chapter will probably be posted quite a bit late (more than usual).
Merry Christmas/Hearths Warming/Emperor's Day etc.
As I grapple with a bout of writers' block (for some reason I've just lost the ability to write sentences. I know what I want to convey, just now how to do it. It's bloody annoying), I thought I'd just run a quick survey.
Who would prefer shorter chapters updated more frequently (6,000-7,000 words or so every few weeks), or longer chapters updated less frequently (10,000+ words every one or two months)?
Don't worry all, the next chapter is currently being proof-read and will be uploaded at my earliest convenience after I get it back purged of all errors, which will hopefully be soon. Things have been rather hectic at my end as I've just changed jobs, but as the new office is much closer to my home and the hours are slightly different I have an extra hour or so in the week day to get some writing done.
Hello all. As Christmas/Hearth's Warming/Emperor's Day is upon us once more I shall be taking a short break from writing to endure spend quality time with my family for the next week, which annoyingly means further delays to the next chapter of Blueblood: Hero of Equestria. If it weren't for this holiday I'd probably have been able to get it ready for proof-reading/editing before New Year's, but as I would have little to no privacy or free time, for I shall be far too busy
