  • Good, but Canceled Stories Bookshelf 24 stories - 0 unread chapters Good stories that have been canceled.

  • Good Stories With No Updates in A LONG Time 98 stories - 104 unread chapters Some good stories have talented writers, but life, among other things, can keep a writer from putting their story into a good ending. These are stories that are incomplete, sometimes NOT marked on Hiatus, with no updates for the past 4 to 6 months or more. I am NOT saying that the authors should IMMEDIATELY drop everything and finish these pieces of work. All I am saying is that these stories are pretty good, but readers should beware since these stories are incomplete, and therefore, have no ending, so reading these stories may include a feeling of abruptness to them. I will attempt to update this as much as I can, but be warned, I am not on this site all the time, so I may not know that a story has always been updated.

  • Favorite Lovecraft Stories 29 stories From the popular Elder God Cthulhu to just the idea of madness, these are some of my favorite stories with Lovecraftian themes in them.

  • In-Canon (For Now...) 19 stories Good stories that haven't been contradicted by the main show as of yet.

  • The Wonderbolts are Getting Better 39 stories The Wonderbolts have NOT been portrayed as a good role model in the show. From "Rainbow Falls" with Spitfire and Fleetfoots betrayal to Soarin & possible cheating of the Friendship Games, to "Rarity Investigates" when the Wonderbolts accused Rainbow Dash of tricking Spitfire to leaving the airshow, it's not painting the Wonderbolts into a nice picture. As such, not everybody likes this military branch, and don't believe the characters when they say they learned their lesson or are a force that helps defend Equestria from hostile forces. However, they have been viewed as of late, not like jerks, or bullies, or incompetent military personnel. Whether it be stories that have the wonderbolts learn their lesson the hard way, stories with a slightly different ending, or complete rewrites of episodes involving the Wonderbolts, these fics are ones that portray the Wonderbolts in a better light than most of the episodes depicted them as. Because, hey, nobody's perfect, but at the very least, we can hope that they can improve someday.

  • This is how to "fix" the episodes. 211 stories I understand how the title of this shelf looks, but hear me out. Some episodes were average, some were boring, some were near flawless gems, some were absolute %$&@#* BONKERS! (Best way to describe it in as few words as possible.) I understand that this show is not meant to be taken seriously, but when you are working on a show that primarily deals in morals, or tries to teach lessons to children, you have to try, just TRY, your best to not mess up on what you say and what you MEAN to say. I understand that people make mistakes, but if Gravity Falls can go through an entire series without a bad episode, then you could try to do a little more work here. This shelf is primarily towards fics that try to "fix" said episodes. Whether it's just changing the ending, presenting a different characters POV of the same situation, a complete rewrite of the episode or writing a side story to explain terrible implications, it tries showing how another take can change things (hopefully) for the better. I'll try to include episodes where the viewers "unanimously" decreed that it was terrible. However, some stories have multiple chapters & cover multiple episodes, and some episodes, like I just said, weren't all that bad. Maybe you like an episode that was covered here. Just know that it's just another opinion/a different take on the same subject, so don't worry too much; if the cannon of the entire G4 is so wibbly-wobbly, that the comics, books and even SOME OF THE VERY EPISODES THEMSELVES can be considered "not-canon" if they have conflicting information, then you can just pick and choose whatever "fix" you like better, and run with it. Who knows, maybe you could use these rewrites as inspiration for characters to take part in "Tales of Equestria", as a much closer way that that particular episode probably should have been portrayed. Don't stress out too much from these shows mistakes and the people who made them; just learn from them and try to avoid them in your own work.

  • "Tales of Equestria" Bookshelf 617 stories - 1330 unread chapters There's no doubt that fans of the show have created an immense amount of material and stories for MLP. While that is awesome, some stories may inspire others in other mediums. Since there's an official Tabletop RPG for MLP FiM, I figure gathering some stories to try to inspire others should be here. This bookshelf features stories (whether complete or incomplete) that I think should be read for the purpose of inspiration for a "Tails of Equestria" campaign, since there aren't more than a handful of official campaigns/adventures from the "official" source. These stories could either have an idea that could spark a great campaign story, be converted to a campaign setting or mystery, or are just so funny that the situations might be fun to play in. Maybe there is a story where you stop mad ponies from hurting another creature, or stopping a pony from making an army and taking over Equestria. (Again.) Maybe a new species was just discovered, and your characters could go on adventures with it. Maybe you could have the mirror actually play a role in your version of Equestria, and the players could visit a story as an "alternate dimension". Maybe a story here has some well thought out morals that could be used to teach younger players. Or maybe some stories here are not that great for ToE games. Maybe you could get some inspiration from the animated show, comics and books as well; some stories that are not written as well, needed a rewrite or seemed like characters in some roles could've been replaced with anyone else, could easily make that story pure tabletop campaign material. Whatever the case, feel free to peruse and read this library. However, don't take EVERY story/story beat and force yourself turn each chapter into one-for-one campaign acts, (while some "adults" play this tabletop rpg, at least a few of these stories might touch on some adult topics/points not PG/lower) but if even a bit of inspiration was given to you from this, then this bookshelf did its job.

  • Ultimate Sweetie Bot Fic Idea Folder 10 stories I believe that if you combine some of the ideas in this folder, you may have the workings of the ultimate Sweetie-bot story. Take the ideas of a backstory of how Sweetie Bot works internally from "Sweetie Bot - A Hearth's Warming Tale", the side stories/sequels from that fic, as well as "Flesh and Blood", and the twist that Sweetie and her robot double can exist from the canceled "My Sister, The Robot", adding or removing possible points from some of the other fics in this folder as well. Then again, that's just my imagination. ;-P

"It's 4 PM and the moon is still in the sky."

That's how it all begins. With a single line spoken into a tape recorder by a very confused and scared dragon. But that's not even half of it.

Ponies start disappearing. Spike hears strange noises all through the day. He tries to contact the princesses, but the rest of Equestria seems to have gone dark.

All Spike has is an old tape recorder and a box of blank tapes he found in the basement. At least he feels safe within the walls of the library. But just how long will that last?

The following transcripts are of a journal found in Ponyville on April 16th of this year. The last recorded contact with the town had been 3 days prior, on the 13th, when a team under orders from Princess Celestia was sent to look into several missing pony reports in the area. When another group of investigators were sent on the 16th, the town was found deserted. The journal’s owner is believed to be the princess’s personal student, Twilight Sparkle. None of the town’s inhabitants have been located in the weeks since.

There are no new cadets being trained, the big annual Wonderbolts party extravaganza isn't until this weekend, and Spitfire will only be away from the Academy for three days.

Fleetfoot is definitely ready for this responsibility.

Except she's not.

Somepony is totally getting fired.

A just-for-fun exercise in correspondence. Reading on a small screen is not recommended.

Before Equestria's founding there was a little ship called the P.S. Newstart. It's mission was simple. Discover new lands in case the peace summits fail and the land becomes inhospitable. When the ship didn't return it was assumed that it was lost at sea. Until one day it mysteriously appeared in the harbor of the old earth pony territory badly damaged, with the crew having no recollection of what occurred . The only clue was a battered old journal which described a most unusual little island...

Introduction: The following Journal entries belong to James Tinwool of the 24th Royal Infantry, who disappeared the day before the Battle of the Somme in 1916. The journal was discovered months after the battle, but James himself was never found during the war. The dates in the journal correspond to before, during and after the battle, however, the journal states that he was nowhere near the battlefield. Some scholars believe that the dates between June 30th to September 5th is pure fantasy that he wrote to cope with his shell shock. James Tinwool himself, who was found years after he reappeared back in England, up to his death in 1948 always made the statement: “Everything that I've written in that journal is true. All of it.” We leave this up to the reader as well as the listener to judge on the authenticity of this story.

Twilight has given you a new book to read. Well, she didn't exactly give it to you, you actually just found it in the back of the library. Behind a shelf. On the ground. It looks very old, downright ancient, and it smells like moss and rot. The binding is a little cracked, and there's no title on it. You can't help but wonder what might be inside, and the only way to find out is to keep reading.

Just turn the page.

You can do that much, can't you?

Please?

WARNING: This story contains brief depictions of blood, mild violence, and death, and has ARG aspects to it. It plays with formatting, and includes images. Some "pages" are long, some are only a few words. It is written in first person, to you, the reader, and is a slow mellow horror. You've been warned.

This story relies on unusual formatting for some parts, and thus may not be as enjoyable on a tablet or phone, or if you have specialized custom Fimfic settings.

If you post spoilers, hints, or answers in the comments, please be sure to spoiler them out or warn others. You don't want to ruin the fun, right?
