Shouldn't Twilight be happy, anyway? Yet when she opens the present, it just might be the most heartbreaking thing she has ever recieved.
On a seemingly normal day in Ponyville, Twilight is extremely excited when she finds Pinkie Pie deeply enthralled with a calculator, writing down what appears to be very advanced algorithms.
Twilight is determined to find out what said algorithms mean, and what mathematic talent her friend may possess that she never knew of before.

Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle have been accidentally locked in a vault in the Royal Canterlot Bank. With the vault soundproof, windowless, and immune to magic and even Pinkie’s methods of… Pinkie-ness, they cannot escape for several hours. They use this time for shenanigans and introspection.
The changelings are banished, the day is saved! Yet a victory for one must be a defeat for another, and this particular victory has left one changeling stranded in Canterlot, alone and broken. A certain pink party pony is also alone in the Canterlot night, hiding her depression from her friends. She cannot, however, hide her feelings from a changeling. What will become of this unlikely pair?
