Following his tumultuous defeat, King Sombra is flung across space and time to exit out a human's malfunctioning toaster. For weeks, Sombra monologues his revenge to destroy those that hurt him. But seven months later, when a route back to Equestria is found, does he not seem all that interested in returning.

This is sort of an experimental fic for me. I started writing this a few months ago when I was reading some darker stories from the period of Romanticism for my English class. It's experimental because, I'm trying to recreate the same style of literary writing from the period of Romanticism. Lots of emotion and spontaneity essentially. Whether or not this works, I don't know. This story is probably going to get a lot of hate because of this writing style but, if you would be kind enough to tell me what you didn't like instead of me just assuming you're a random troll, that'd be great.

King Sombra, the tyrant of Crystal Empire is back, only to be imprisoned by princesses and put through reformation with Twilight Sparkle as his teacher. Can somepony with heart as black as night be reformed? Twilight believes so. Sombra in other hoof isn't so sure but something in that mare makes him try.

This is going to be one of my longest stories this far. Marked Teen for sexual innuendo and slightly gory-ish scenes. Nothing too bad though. Also this will not be a story that deserves a dark marking.

As a new patient joins NEMI (North Equestria Mental Institution) a young colt, Silas, begins to write journal entries of his life before his other personality, Sombra. The Doctors tell him this will help him be cured but he wonders whether it's just too late for him to be saved.

Diddy Discord, however, can't thank his new friend enough for being himself, as he struggles through the trials and tribulations of being 'mentally unstable' and moving away from all those who cared for him before entering the asylum.

To restore their family heritage. Pitch and Sabre have one mission in mind. To rehabilitate their forefather. The master of darks arts, Sombra.

However, they doubt that they only can make him good again as there’s more to him then they hoped. Namely, his first act upon freedom is to ensure the Crystal Empire with fear and kidnap Princess Twilight Sparkle.

While Canterlot watches the Crystal Empire intensively. Surely the famed Princess of Friendship can help Pitch and Sabre reform Sombra?

In the Age of Ancients, the world was unformed and shrouded by fog. A land of gray crags, Archtrees, and everlasting Dragons. But then there was Fire and with fire came disparity, Heat and Cold, Life and Death, and of course, light and dark. Then from the dark, They came, and found the Souls of Lords within the flame. Celestia, first of the Alicorns, The Witch of Friendship and her Elements of Harmony, Sombra, the King of Shadow, and his loyal knights. And the Princess Luna, so easily forgotten.

With the Strength of lords, they challenged the Dragons. Sombra's mighty dark blasts peeled away their stone scales. Celestia, first of the Alicorns, weaved great firestorms. The Witch of Friendship unleashed a miasma of calm and harmony. And Discord the scaleless betrayed his own, and the Dragons were no more.

Thus, the Age of Fire began. But soon the flames will fade and only Dark will remain. Even now there are only embers, and Equine sees not light, but only endless nights. And amongst the living are seen, carriers of the accursed Darksign.

Yes indeed. The Darksign brands the Undead. And in this land, the Undead are corralled and lead to the north, where they are locked away, to await the end of the world. This is your fate.

Only in the ancient legends it is stated, that one day an undead shall be chosen to leave the Undead Asylum, in pilgrimage, to the land of ancient lords, Canterlot.

It has been 15 years since King Sombra was defeated and the Crystal Empire was saved, but one faithful night, at the Grand Galloping Gala, commemorating Princess Twilight Sparkle's 15th coronation anniversary, the festivities are disrupted by a clan of shadowy, pony-like monsters and a mysterious swirling black hole opens up in the sky, growing in size every minute. Further investigation reveals a horrifying surprise, King Sombra has returned....

With the fate of Equestria once more in their hooves, Twilight and her friends travel from their home to the undiscovered west to seek out a long-lost Equestrian ally to aid them in their quest to save the kingdom from Sombra and his new Umbrum army. Along the way, they'll uncover the mysteries surrounding a new type of magic, and a tragic story of love and corruption.
