But when both the reality of her new station and a dark secret behind Equestria's history finally confront her in full force, Twilight is forced to make decisions that could change the face of the Kingdom and ponykind forever. After a long time letting it lay dormant, I've decided to give this story a complete reboot. Much of the original plot will be kept largely intact, but the focus has changed completely from the alicorn immortality itself to Twilight discovering its true nature and the history behind it. The clunky old wording and dialogue is being updated and improved as well.

When I'm in Equestria, I spend a lot of my time in the Canterlot libraries. I pick up old history books, brush-up on the practical mechanics of magic, and make sure I'm well acquainted with the land in general.

Then I found and old, time worn diary on one of the shelves. After reading it, I don't think it was suppose to be there.

Pinkie Pie, Ponyville's official party planner, and the happiest pony in the world, friends with everypony, you'd think she never had her moments of sadness and sorrow. How wrong you'd be to think that.

Five years ago, back on the rock farm, she finds a cave on one of her little trips on the edge of the farm, and inside she finds a lonely pony. Having discovered that her special talent was to make ponies happy, she approaches her and soon, Pinkie and this other pony become friends. However, this pony is not really a pony... well, not completely.

After an incident that scarred Pinkie since then, she moves to Ponyville to live her own life and meet more ponies to have fun with, hiding a troubled past deep under her happy facade. But what happens when said past resurfaces after so many years? Will the Element of Laughter be able to fix it, or will she turn her back on it and keep the grudge she has against it?

Twilight gets her first student, a little unicorn filly with strange magical abilities. There is a problem though, her powers are stronger with hate and anger. Twilight grows to love her student, who is named Fira Adara, and trains her as well as she can to control her powers and use them for good. But will little Fira be able to control them? And what caused her strange magical abilities?

When Sombra, ex-ruler of the Crystal Empire, is discovered alive and well, Twilight has her hooves full keeping the tyrannical king in check. Instead of the original plan of throwing him in a dungeon or banishing him to Tartarus, Celestia decides to go with the plan that worked out well enough for Discord.

Pinkie takes the job, and gets right to work in helping Sombra become a better pony. Will Sombra finally change from his old, wicked ways and reform? Or will he instead strangle the annoying, pink menace known as Pinkie Pie?

In the wake of Chrysalis' failed invasion, a different hive breaks tradition and steps into the light to open relations with Equestria. The ever eager scholar, Twilight Sparkle, uses this truce as the perfect opportunity to learn more about this enigmatic race. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, she will learn all there is to know about what it means to be a changeling.

But will Twilight lose herself in the hive, or will she regain what she has lost? Only time will tell.

Warning: This is an attempt to make the Cadance/Chrysalis ship work, without too much darkness (though there will be some), or it leading to an inevitable bad end. If you hate this idea, believe that Cadance ending up with Chrysalis is automatically a bad end regardless of circumstances, or just think it's plain impossible to pull off then please move on as this fic is probably not going to be for you.

Still if you want to see if this pretty cracky ship can somehow be made to work, and have some fun along the way, then this just might be the fic you are looking for.

If you still hate the concept enough that you feel that you have to hit the dislike button, then fair enough, but if you find something else objectionable then please post a comment, or basically I'm going to assume that you're just disliking the ship rather than the story and ignore you.

The Sex tag is there for some of the humour, some implication to off screen activities, and a few bits on screen that while are no where near the mature rating do push things somewhat compared to the rest of the fic. If you're wondering where the Comedy tag went I decided while I do believe there's a lot of fun and amusement to be had, I can see why it might mislead some readers as some of the events are taken more seriously that you'd expect from an all out comedy.
