Twilight Sparkle starts to learn about gravity-manipulation spells after Princess Celestia sends her a book on the subject. Casting the spell is easy, but cancelling it, not so much, and Twilight soon finds herself without a hoof on the ground when she becomes the accidental target of her own magic.

On any other day, Twilight could deal with this. But with representatives from the prestigious Canterlot School of Magic due that evening to consider a possible annex in Ponyville, Twilight must find a way to be able to attend the event without revealing her foul-up.

Ooooh, this one has potential. I'll keep my eye on it.

even with wings she'd have a little difficulty.

I don't think Twilight understands the gravity of the situation. She's always been such a heavy-hitter, but now she's a lightweight, lacking totally in gravitas and simply cruising on her own inertia, drifting with the breeze. Perhaps a friend can set her hooves on the right path so she can land safely after her flight of fancy. After all, that's what friends are for, to keep our hooves on the ground while our heads are in the air.

I was expecting Spike to grab some card-stock, make a stencil of Rarity's logo using his claws and spray paint it onto Twilight's coat, regardless of whether or not she said, "no."

Lead in Saddlebags?

Is this proyect dead too? Just put it on Cancelled, or something so I don't worry about waiting, please

3030178 No, but I've had a lot of writers block to finish out about 25% of the remaining story, but I should be good to get this done in the next couple of weeks or so.

3031658 Ah, OK then. It's just, so many great stories are kept like this FOREVER!... And that is sad and unnerving. But if you say you are continuing... carry on :D

I know! Twilight needs to just pig out on a really huge, heavy meal. Or would anything inside her instantly also be affected by the spell?

Remind me what comment in the crystal empire about gravity that was?

I love the picture of twilight getting towed along by spike.

It's funny, because I'm working on my own story where twilight accidentally messes up a gravity spell and ends up depositing her bed on the ceiling.

Twilight, stop tempting the Dark Lord Murphy.

“Hey, I would have been there for you!” Twilight thumped her chest. “I’d never let my friend down. Besides, I’d really love a flying buddy at times, but I never can get Fluttershy to pony up and join me.”

“Sure thing!” Twilight smiled and nodded. “There was a small drizzle scheduled for tonight but I got the okay from Cloudsdale to postpone it until tomorrow. Just need to grab the rest of the Ponyville cloud-clearing squad to push it out of the way.”

3513864 Got those, thanks muchly!

Rainbow was already gathering the yawn harnessed in her teeth

>"Yawn"

:rainbowlaugh:

3520677 Thanks, caught a second one earlier too from that.

“Ms. Sparkle,” a voice behind her said. Twilight turned to find Smartypants waiting there, a broad grin across his face.

“Oh, Mr. Smartypants, nice to see you again.” She offered. “Just...just taking a bit of a breather here,” she said.

:trixieshiftright: You mean Fancypants?

3521499 Uhhh yes :) (no Twilight's doll does not come to life :)

I was actually kind of expecting the gravity spell to wear off while she was still wearing the dress, and having the weight of the dress suddenly smush her into the floor. :rainbowlaugh:

But this works well, too, and it was a fun story to read anyway, and that's what we're all here for, right? :pinkiehappy:

You know, the way you are handling this isn't necessarily how gravity works when you are weightless. She doesn't need to be held down by anything at all times; she just needs to stay still. And if something were holding her down, then she wouldn't start floating away instantly.

But otherwise, this is hilarious. I'm loving it.

This story is awesome!!!! :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:
I would be most honored if this story were in this group: The MLP Fan Club: source of all good fics

3546750 I know, I'm totally ignoring conservation of momentum for the sake of humor, rule of funny and all.

*Grins* It's worth waiting for.:pinkiehappy:

*Laughs and applauds* Bravo! Very sweet and silly fun.

Haven't read the story yet so I don't know if this is redundant but couldn't she just do the spell again? Would that not reverse it?
