Ember and Thorax forcesconvinces Garble, a hotheaded dragon of the dragon lands, and Pharynx, the tough big brother of the Changelings, to be the plus ones.
How will either of them handle a social gathering as big as this one?

Hi! Found this story and it's really funny. I like it!
Admittedly, sort of hoped for a bit more one-on-one interaction between Pharynx and Garble...but at the same time, it makes perfect sense them trying to pull things to annoy each other like this.
And it all still ended well for them, so...

I originally planned for them to talk a bit more, but I struggled on what they would talk about without it getting too deep into backstories. I thought in the end, they'd be more likely to try and one-up each other instead.

Spindle is totally another version of Fluttershy. A little more bold though, considering she asked Pharynx to dance, something I bet Fluttershy would be too shy to do.

Cool combo of characters! Pharynx's under-utilization in the show was criminal, and Garble's character got a lot less flat after Sweet and Smokey, so this was fun to read.
I definitely see one-upping as being how they interact. I wrote a story about Pharynx and Shining interacting, and it worked as a conversation, but there's no way Garble would care for a long-winded conversation.
